i haven't really thought about rho's last name, or even rho's clan's name, for canon bc she literally just gives it up. when she leaves her clan, she leaves that name behind too. she's never felt a strong association with it, either, so that's why she doesn't have a surname. if anything, she'd probably go by her mother's clan's name.

she's rhodeia or rho, and that's it.

1. laugh

rho's laugh is a crescendo, mostly because she finds almost everything humorous. it's starts off quiet, some giggling here and there, a snicker maybe. then it's a bit louder and her eyes are practically twinkling. lastly it's loud, like a bell, almost, sudden and noticeable and her entire face scrunches up with it. she's also probably touching the person who made the joke, as if to say "yes i find this funny too if you couldn't already tell by my loud laughter."

2. cry

oh god rho crying is probably the saddest thing to see, if she ever lets anyone catch her, that is. she doesn't often let people see her cry more than a few tears. but when she's alone, she cries quietly and with her full body, clutching at her stomach and biting her lower lip to stop the hiccups from coming (although it never works).

3. sneeze

rho's sneeze is hella loud and kinda makes everyone worried for her?? because it just looks so violent. but afterwards she just looks up and politely says "excuse me" with a smile, and goes about her business, like she wasn't just thrown off by a sneeze.

5. walk

rho strolls along for the most part, seemingly not in any hurry to be in the place she's needed, bouncing on the balls of her feet on occasion. she's not a very determined walker and prefers taking her time.

7. hold hands

she laces her hand through the other and squeezes, no matter her relationship with the other person. it's just habit for her. plus she finds holding hands with her fingers closed is stiff and awkward, not her at all.

8. kiss

rho kisses very very thoroughly, short kisses included (although no kiss initiated by her is particularly short). she likes to linger momentarily before pulling back from a kiss, as if to let it settle on the other's lips.

9. hug

she hugs like she cuddles: frequently and closely. she'll pull the person to her and nuzzle into their neck, squeezing them tightly as she smiles with her eyes closed. 

10. sing

rho can hold a tune for the most part, but she doesn't have the most fantastic of voices. she's often off-pitch, which doesn't really matter because she doesn't sing too loudly anyway. she also forgets a lot of the words

11. smile

her normal smile is a soft one, with just the ends of her lips turned upward. her happy smile is the best; pearly whites gleaming, plump cheeks raised high, and eyes alight with happiness. it's a sight to see.

12. frown

she frowns more with her face than her lips, her expression drooping along with her stature. it's an obvious change, too, seeing as she's constantly smiling and her stance is bright.

13. pout

rho's pout is very very subtle, but one can catch the downward quirk of her lips if they look close enough. it doesn't stick around for long, though, and is replaced with a small smile soon thereafter.

15. dance

rho dances much better than she sings. she dances carelessly, to have fun, and often makes a fool of herself. her hips don't lie, tho.

18. react to surprises

her eyes widen even larger than they are originally, and she's taken aback for at least a minute, mostly walking around stunned. her reaction afterwards depends on what kind of surprise it is, of course.

1. Who cooks?

rho can't really cook at all, so ava. she likes watching ava cook, tho (and sneaking little bites while she's cooking)!!

2. Who’s the messiest? The cleanest?

neither of them are the cleanest in terms of picking up item strewn around their rooms. rho knows where everything is, and that's enough for her. ava seems to be the same, too.

13. Who stays up late? Who sleeps the most? Does the other have to force them to sleep/wake up?

they stay up til around the same time, which is pretty late, but rho might conk out first sometimes. ava definitely sleeps more and longer, though, and it's rho doing the waking up. that involves lots poking, bribery, and tickles.

14. Who is the highest maintenance? Does the other mind?

neither of them are very high maintenance (i don't think??), but rho particularly so. she doesn't require much interaction and attention, mostly because she's used to it.

9. Is someone multilingual? Do they try to teach another language to the other? How does it go?

they’re all multilingual, actually!! on top of the english equivalent, rho and solas know elven, solas obviously being more fluent than rho, and iron bull is fluent in qunlat. rho’s adamant in learning more and more in elvish, and likes qunlat a lot (“kadan kadan kadan i like it”). solas tried to teach bull elvish, but it……….didn’t go so well (“the words are too fluffy.” “…………fluffy?”).

13. Who stays up late? Who sleeps the most? Does the other have to force them to sleep/wake up?

they all tend to stay up pretty late, but rho only stays up if she has to. bull’s awake late into the night, often in the tavern. solas sleeps the most, for obvious reasons, but is often awoken by his two partners.

2. Who’s the messiest? The cleanest?

bull is by far the messiest. solas is the cleanest (in terms of decoration, anyway).

4. Living space has a leak! Who fixes it?

solas. he’d attempt to, anyway. bull would be watching off to the side, chuckling, warning him that he’s going to get even more wet if he keeps trying to fix that. and when solas does, bull cracks the hell up.

6. Going out to eat: Who pays? Who orders the most food? And who has dessert?

rho pays, bull orders the most food (he and his food) along with dessert. rho hates sweets, but she gets coffee, while solas stares at it in disgust.

8. Who knows how to swim? Who doesn’t?

they all know how to swim, but bull isn’t partial to it. says he’s too heavy or something.

10. Any pets? Or plants?

rho has an entire garden and greenhouse that she looks after, so that’s her pet, really. one time, both bull and rho beg solas to keep a dragon egg they find in the hissing wastes, but because he’s no fun he tells them no, multiple times, until they relent (and even after that, they try to smuggle it back to skyhold in a knapsack).

let's talk about modern au rho!!!!!!

okay so i tried to stick to the central themes of her background. rho grew up in the free marches with the dalish on something similar to that of a reservation. she graduated from the local high school and went to college in ferelden for about two years before dropping out bc it just wasn't her thing. her dad subsequently disowned her (in words more than actions, but she hasn't been back home since). now she works at a flower shop in the denerim (bc duh) doing things like arranging flowers, offering assistance to customers, and tending to the gardens on occasion.

as far as personality, rho's essentially the same. she is a bit of a tree hugger, though, and tends to be very "green" in her choices (she rides her bike everywhere, she recycles, she uses self-made solar panels for her apartment, etc etc). she's not a vegetarian by any means, she just worries about the environment and energy levels and gas emissions and fossil fuels and yadda yadda yadda. 

one thing that's wildly different about rho is that she likes dancing, and she's quite good at it. she's self-taught in modern dance, similar to the style seen here, and she often goes to clubs or bars with her friends to dance and destress.

that's as far as i've gotten on her, and i need to develop her a bit more, but yeah modern au i love it so much
