Chinese New Year from many, many moons ago, doing the traditional “pai-pai” to great grandmother (she loved to be 100+) Tradition dictates that males do the complete gesture of respect, starting by standing, hands clasped in respect, bowing, kneeling, kissing the ground near the feet of the one being respected, return to standing, and repeat. This will go on until the one being respected deems the repetition enough and stop you from continuing.
