A police detective about to mount a patrol in 1921. In the 1920s and ’30s, the New York Police Department began fitting its vehicles with radios, leading to the term Radio Motor Patrol, or R.M.P., still in use today.

The Cavalry Staff Corps (also Staff Corps of Cavalry). The corps consisted of 4 troops of cavalry. It was raised in 1813 during the Peninsula War to deal with with crimes & desertion in Wellington's armies. It was disbanded in 1814 but was reformed in 1815.
