Herpes Leaves When It Wants

Hi friends! We’re so excited to be back for Season 2 of Deadloch!!

In this episode we talked about episode 1 - Croc Justice 🐊

We talked about Cath’s ability to sniff out the tea like a truffle pig, Dulcie’s struggles in the heat, and Eddie’s croc brother!

We also dug into some ideas about the way the show presents masculinity and misogyny, the impacts of copaganda and the way the show threads the needs, and the undertones of comp-het that seem to be running through Dulcie’s storyline.

JOAN AS POLICEWOMAN: RNCM, MANCHESTER

Third time photographing Joan Wasser AKA Joan As Policewoman and each time she is very different. The first time was at Gorilla where she was flamboyant and raging behind a keyboard, the 2nd time she performed with a full band at Stoller Hall, but on this occasion, it was entirely stripped back with just Joan at the piano alternating with her guitar.  It was sooooo quiet you could hear every click of the camera shutter, despite me having it on silent mode. As a result, I only shot around 20 images which is very low for a live show. We were allowed to shoot three songs, from around various points of the hall, but no pit, plus all with Joan behind the piano so, unfortunately, there isn’t much variety.

Do you know how good it feels to know that the last thing I ever did as a music student EVER was to play a concert consisting of arrangements that I wrote of my favourite music ever, together with friends who indulged me, worked really hard on making this dream of mine come true, and looked absolutely FABULOUS in their costumes? I hope you do, because it's a bloody amazing feeling. I really hope you enjoy these recordings as much as we enjoyed playing them. 💖

This week you get 2 for the price of 1! Apologies for the delay on posting about this episode, I (Lucia) attended a music festival last week & forgot to post 💀 but I saw MCR so I feel like I had a good reason!

In this episode we covered Deadloch season 2, episode 4: Ladies Day Night Day Night. We talked about where the missing backpackers might've ended up, Barra Creek's similarity to Florida, and our frustrations with having a shorter season.
