How aware are the ROs if they have a crush? Do they brush it off? Lie to themselves? Or do they accept it?
Oh, this is interesting ✨
Derek: He will not notice at first. “It’s normal for me to worry a little about them, isn’t it? It’s also normal to notice things in other people, like their mannerisms, the way they talk, and their habits, and try to help them with things I know they don’t like. Of course, it also isn’t strange to want to spend more time together. Oh, look at that, they might like this. I could buy it for them... Oh no.” So, when he does notice his liking for that person, two things might happen. He could accept his feelings and try to talk it out with the other person... Or he could panic, try to deny it, and lie to himself, only making himself very evident to the other person.
Max: If his crush isn’t a woman? Everything is fine; he knows and accepts it. But if a woman somehow catches his attention? Well, two things can happen, although the ending will always be the same. He could lure said woman, get physical with her, and forget about her the next day. Or if he thinks his feelings might get the best of him, he will back away immediately. In the end, he will not allow himself to develop any kind of feelings. That doesn’t mean it cannot happen :)
Alex: He knows when he likes someone, and he has no problem admitting it to himself or the other person.
Jere: He takes a long time to realize when he has a crush on someone. It’s like: “Oh, here they come. It’s nice how they always manage to make me happy with their presence. How can I give them back even a little of the joy they bring me? Wait, my heart beat a little fast when they got a little too close to me. Huh. Probably nothing. Anyway...”
Siliva: She also notices pretty quickly when someone catches her eye. And at first, she doesn’t mind and goes with the flow. But things start to get serious? She backs away and denies everything, even if she’s already a lost cause.
Lorian/Locke: They don’t notice at first, but if they spend enough time with the person, they eventually do. And if they think it could be the right person, they won’t mind. Otherwise, they will bury their feelings deep down and try to get over it.
???: They know from the moment they start to think daily of that person. From the warm feeling that spreads in their chest at their memory. From the laughs, they share together. From the way they wish to see them when they’re apart. They know they’re a lost cause when they get lost in those eyes and smile, not minding one bit.
Omg! Since you're back, could we get the ending to the fireworks scenario? If you're not busy, that is, I just wanna see the family together
Ahh, yes! I completely forgot I never finished it! ✨
Here it is the end! 💜
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four
“Jere!” Max shouts as he jumps off the balcony and looks at his brother. “Jere, please be careful with that! I don’t want you to get hurt!”
“I won’t!” Jere yells at him without turning around, putting the powder in the last few fireworks. “At least I don’t think so...” he says more quietly.
“Still, it’s not a good idea—”
Just as Max is about to run to Jere, Alex grabs him and roughly carries him over his shoulder.
“Leave the boy alone,” says Alex to Max, and he slowly walks to where Siliva is still restraining Derek.
“You big brute! Set me down!” Max kicks the air and pushes against Alex’s back to try and free himself. “That thing stinks of the witch’s magic! It’s dangerous!”
“Jere is a big boy. He knows what he is doing. And I went with him to see Krizia; it’s nothing too potent,” Alex says and starts to pat Max’s back in an appeasing way. “As long as you don’t put too much.”
“No!” Max yells as he goes straight to his captor’s weak point. His neck. He slides his fingers along Alex’s neck.
Alex falters momentarily, trying not to laugh or squirm from the touch. But that was all Max needed, as he successfully managed to slip from Alex’s grip and fall to the ground.
“Oh, you little—” Alex starts to say, but seeing Max quickly getting up and rushing to Jere, he launches himself and tackles Max.
Both land on the grass and start wrestling. Max tries to get free, and Alex to pin him to the ground.
“Jere,” you have retraced your steps and returned to his side. “Not to pressure you, but are you done?”
“Almost!” he answers. “It’s the last one!”
“Okay...” you mutter and look around once again.
Max and Alex are still struggling on the ground. Both messy and without their ponytails.
Derek still tries to push off Siliva a few feet away.
“Just— How—” Derek groans.
“Really, Dary, I’m not even trying,” says Siliva with mock disappointment. “I think you couldn’t even escape Lory/Locky.”
“Shut up,” Derek retorts, breathless.
“Mother will be very disappointed in you when she finds out,” she taunts him playfully. “It’s been a while since the last time you trained with her. And when she hears you’ve been neglecting your training, she will have you make up for the lost time.”
“Don’t tell my aunt—” Derek suddenly sounds panicked. “I’ve been busy. I—”
“She won’t go easy on you,” she teases him again.
“Done!” Jeremiah cries out victoriously, making you turn to him again. “All. It’s all of them. Now just—”
“The fire,” you continue for him, and realization descends on you both simultaneously.
“We don’t have fire!” Jere laments, throwing his hands to his head. “Now what?”
“I—”
“Young Master!” a voice calls out from behind you.
Delilah rushes towards you, holding a candle holder with a single lit candle. She tries her best to keep the candle lit as she navigates to you, dodging the two men on the ground and passing by Derek and Siliva.
“Damned woman,” Max says bitterly.
“Good job, Dela!” Alex laughs and calls after her, quickly returning his attention to Max when he tries to slip away.
“Delilah!” you say when she reaches you. “How did you know?”
“You haven’t been that quiet,” she laughs and passes you the candle holder. “But really, the Master told me to bring you this.”
You take a moment to look for Enrique, who’s by the house’s entrance with Lorian/Locke by his side. He catches your eyes and gives you a playful wink.
“Ready?” Jeremiah asks you, holding one of the fireworks in his hands. His eyes twinkled with excitement.
“Do it,” you answer, holding the candle for him.
“Okay, okay,” he murmurs. “Lit it with the image of what you want to see. Then to the sky it must be set free.” Jeremiah repeats the witch’s words as he lights the fireworks.
“Now!” you hurry him.
“Ahhhh!” Jeremiah screams as he hurls the firework into the night sky.
“What did you ask for?”
“I don’t know! I panicked!”
Then, a loud boom resonates in the night.
The squabbles cease. Everyone looks up into the sky.
In the darkness of the night, a multicolored dove emerges with its wings spread wide. It gives a few spins in the air before disappearing, flying on the horizon as it begins to fade.
“It’s so pretty!” Siliva says excitedly.
“I have to tell the others!” Delilah runs towards the house.
“It worked!” Jeremiah exclaims victoriously.
“A dove?” you ask him.
“When I said ‘it must be set free,’ it came to my mind ‘free as a dove,’” he laughs. “I mean, at least I think so.”
“Who cares?!” Alex suddenly yells. “Another! Jere, the one I wanted!”
“Right. Let’s see.” He takes another firework, lights it, and throws it to the sky with more confidence than before.
This time, the boom sounded more like a roar. It seems accurate as a big red dragon dominates the sky, moving its head up and down and finishing with its fire breath before disappearing.
“Sí!” Alex celebrates with a loud laugh. “It was worth it.” He then turns to look at the man trapped in his arms. “Will you now calm yourself and just enjoy the show?”
“Go to Hell,” Max answers without bite.
“Aw, such love,” Alex chuckles and finally lets Max go.
Both men stand up, Max trying to remove some of the dirt and grass on his clothes.
“Just leave it like that. You’re gonna take ages,” Alex teases him.
“I hate you,” Max says.
“I love you too, darling,” Alex laughs again as he throws an arm around Max’s shoulders and guides him towards you and Jere.
“Did you see, Dary?” Siliva shakes Derek excitedly. “The shapes moved! It looked so pretty!”
“I saw, Siliva,” Derek answers, looking around the garden and sighing in relief.
“The plants are fine, for God’s sake.” Alex rolls his eyes as he passes him.
“Lory/Locky! Uncle! Come to see!” Siliva releases Derek and turns to call them.
Derek begins to stretch his arms, but Siliva grabs him once again and throws her arms around his neck and shoulders.
“Let’s go see! Come on!”
And Siliva drags Derek towards you.
“What do you want to see?” Jeremiah asks you with a radiant smile.
“Let’s try a cat,” you say.
He nods, takes another firework, lights it, and hurls it into the sky.
By the time it explodes in the sky, everyone has gathered around you, all looking at the sleeping, curled-up blue cat in the sky. It wakes, stretches lazily, and takes off, running towards the moon as it begins to fade.
“Another!” Siliva laughs and jumps in excitement, still clinging to Derek.
He lets her be but moves closer, making sure she doesn’t fall.
“Livy, I think you’re strangling Derek,” Lorian/Locke says impassively as they come to stand beside them.
“I’m better than before,” Derek reassures them with a small smile.
Lorian/Locke nod in acknowledgment.
“Not trying to free yourself any longer?” Alex says to Derek with a taunting smile.
“I will not humiliate myself further,” Derek deadpans, and Alex laughs.
“I agree,” Max murmurs.
“Hey, you used to love hugs,” Siliva complains to Derek.
“Really?” Alex asks her in disbelief. “Mr. Don’t-You-Dare-Get-Too-Close?”
“Yes, he was so clingy as a kid!” Siliva says with a grin.
“That’s no—!”
“Yes, he was,” Lorian/Locke confirms.
Alex roars with laughter.
“Lorian/Locke never lie,” Max says, trying to hold back a smile.
Derek groans loudly and looks to the ground, a subtle red on his ears.
Enrique stands behind you and Jeremiah, placing a hand on your shoulders. He gives you a warm smile.
“What else have you got?” he asks you.
“Anything you want, Father!” Jere says enthusiastically.
And you spend the night throwing fireworks into the sky, illuminating the darkness of the night, and entertaining the moon with not just the changing colors.
Hey, just a question out of curiosity. Is there a reason why there are four houses (not counting Mond, since there's only one member), but the ROs are only from two of them (with most from ours)? I absolutely love this IF, but I can’t stop thinking about it.
Well, basically, it’s because they are the only ones with whom a romance could work 😂✨
In the Moonlight family, there’s Enrique and his four sons. Enrique isn’t available for... reasons. (Yup, I thought of making him romanceable, and I still haven’t entirely discarded the possibility, but for now, that won’t be the case.) Meanwhile, all the boys were perfect candidates. One of them can save you; you’ll spend a lot of time with them and get many opportunities to get to know them. They’re all open to romance and have something the MC could help them with. They’re the easiest options.
The Delacroix family also has four “young” members. But of those four, a romance could only work with two of them, Siliva and Lorian/Locke. Since they spend a lot of time in the Moonlight house, you’ll also get more chances to know them than their siblings. Eira and Liath don’t go to your home unless on orders from their mother. And they’re not as approachable as their siblings, so I can’t really see a way to make a romance work with them. And I have other plans for them :)
And Belladonna is also a no-no. For... reasons, also.
Now, the Rosemerte have two “young” members, too, Ariel and Rose. But these also won’t work as a potential romance. Rose is, well, Rose: immature and acts like a child. Ariel’s heart is already occupied. And Madeleine and Rasen love each other. So they’re not options either.
And for the Lovelace family, there are only three members. Braxton and Ivonne are still happily in love, too. They’re open about an adventure with the two of them and a third one, but not romance, really. They just need each other. And Drausio isn’t interested in romance. He’s a workaholic; he just focuses on his duties, that’s all.
So, I created a romantic option of every character that allows the MC to fit nicely into their stories: Derek, Max, Alex, Jere, Siliva and Lorian/Locke.
Every other vampire has their own agenda, motives, feelings, and stories, in which it is hard or impossible for the MC to fit as a romantic partner.
Have the ROs ever killed anyone? I’m assuming as a vampire they’ve done it but as a human? Would they care if MC had as a human?
Only Max and Alex have killed while still being human. It’s part of their background. It will be boarded in the game :)
As for the second question...
Derek, Siliva, and Lorian/Locke have the same time as vampires, which is... a lot. And they have more or less detached themselves emotionally from humans, so they would not mind if MC had killed before.
And while Max and Alex are significantly younger than the others, due to circumstances from their past, they would not mind either.
Jeremiah, however...
The poor baby would have so many conflicting emotions.
After reading through the posts I had my mind set on Derek but I'm such a sucker for the unknown (*cough* ??? *cough*) 😔 Can you rank the routes by angst? that might help me
Ohh, this is interesting, I haven’t really thought about how much angst each route will have.
I think the ranking will be something like this:
Max (female MC)
???
Derek
Max (non-female MC)
Siliva - Lorian/Locke
Alex - Jere
Really, I think the only ones who will have angst in their routes will be Max and Derek because of their personalities.
I don’t have planned angst with Alex and Jere (or at least not much). Their romances will be more playful and light, in contrast to their brothers’.
With Siliva and Lorian/Locke, maybe a little for family problems.
And regarding angst in ??? route, that is another case entirely... if you unlock their route :)
You have to meet one requirement to unlock their route. Only one single requirement ✨
But to achieve that requirement, you have to make certain choices. In fact, the first one is already in Chapter One :)
From Chapter Two onward, the game will let you know (subtly) if you’re on the right path to unlock ???
And I’ll probably should stop here, or I’ll say too much 🤭
ROs reaction to Mc coming to their room after having a nightmare. (This probably leaves out the hidden RO since they don’t live or is an active guest in the house)
Ahh, I took too much time in this ask, but I loved it 🥺
It’s a really long post, but oh well ✨
I know you all have missed my long asks answers :) 💜
In this scenario, both Lorian/Locke and Siliva are staying over in a guest room with the Moonlights. And as for ???, let’s say that for some extraordinary reason that we will never know are staying with the Moonlights as well :)
All this is assuming the ROs are in a romantic relationship with MC...
Derek
You stand outside Derek’s door. You knock, and he opens almost instantly.
“You should be sleeping. The sun’s still up,” he says.
“I could say the same to you.” Looking behind him, you see papers scattered on his desk. “It’s been days since you last slept.”
“Vampires don’t need to sleep as much as humans,” he answers defensively.
“Well then, good thing I’m a vampire as well,” you walk past him and sit on the bed.
He sighs and closes the door.
“Come here,” you say before he can make a beeline for his desk.
He hangs his head and sits beside you, where you take his hand and intertwine your fingers with his.
“I still have to read and rewrite the reports we’ll give Lord Mond.” He looks at you sideways and then turns to face you when he sees your face. “Something’s wrong?”
“Not really, I... I just didn’t want to be alone.”
He gets closer to you, pulls your head towards his shoulder, and envelops you in his arms.
“Another nightmare?” You feel his sigh when you nod your head.
He doesn’t say anything more, only traces gentle circles on your skin with his thumb. With the slow and almost indistinguishable beat of his heart soothing your own, you close your eyes and let yourself get lost in the moment.
Max
Max’s door suddenly opens before you can knock.
“Something’s wrong? Are you alright?” He says worriedly, looking all over you.
“I’m fine, just-”
His hands cup your cheeks, and he looks into your eyes.
“Another nightmare,” he says after a moment, and you nod.
His hands slide down your arms until they reach yours. He closes the door behind you and nods to the bed.
“I’m here if you want to talk about it.”
You both sit on the bed, and he squeezes your hands.
“Or to only keep you company if that’s what you prefer.”
You nod at him.
“You should still try to rest,” he says. “Stay here with me.”
He lays down on the bed, and you follow him. He pulls you closer to him, and you lay your head on his chest.
“I won’t leave,” he whispers as he kisses your head.
You relax in his arms, allowing yourself to close your eyes.
“I swear when I find out the reason for your nightmares...”
Max whispers again, lower this time, but you don’t answer. You let him squeeze you tighter against him and let sleep fall over you.
Alex
Standing before Alex’s door, you don’t bother to knock. You’re perfectly aware of how much of a heavy sleeper he can be, so you only open it and enter.
The darkness barely lets you see his big frame lying on the bed. You walk towards it and climb on with him. He’s lying on his side, so you crawl to be face-to-face with him.
Alex grunts a bit and opens his eyes sleepily. At the sight of you, he opens his big arms, inviting you to his embrace.
“Hey there, babe. Not fancing to sleep alone?”
You get close to him, and his arms envelope you, pulling you against his chest.
“I had a nightmare,” you whisper.
“Damn,” he says, blinking the sleep away. “Sorry to hear that.”
His hands caress your back, soothing your racing heart.
“I’m here. You don’t have to be afraid.”
One of his hands caresses the back of your head, holding you closer.
“I’m here.”
Jeremiah
As you come to Jeremiah’s room, you hear noise on the other side. You open the door and find him hunched over on his desk.
“Jeremiah?” you call him.
“Oh, hey,” he looks at you from above his shoulder. “Come in.”
You enter and sit on his bed. Hearing clanking and hammering noises, you know he’s tinkering with the old clock he found a few days prior.
“What are you doing with the clock?” you ask him.
“Wouldn’t it be awesome if a clock could also illuminate, like a lamp?” he asks, excited.
“So why don’t you just place a candle on it?”
“Very funny, but no... I’ve tried it,” he chuckles. “I didn’t refer to producing light on top. What if it could produce light inside of it?”
“Why would you need a clock with light inside?” you ask him, confused.
“To see the hour at night!”
You laugh at his enthusiasm but fall silent when you hear a little boom. Jeremiah quickly jumps back. There’s smoke emanating from the clock.
“Well, that’s my hint to stop for today,” he chuckles and comes to sit by your side. “Did you want to talk about something?”
“Not really. It’s just, I had a nightmare and didn’t want to be alone.”
His eyes widen in worry. “Oh, I’m sorry. And here I am playing with fire, literally.”
He takes your hands in his, squeezing them reassuringly.
“If there’s something I can do, please tell me.”
You nod, remaining silent. He leans in, kisses your cheek, and rests his forehead against yours.
“You can watch me really set the house on fire,” he continues, a smile playing his lips.
Suddenly, a voice sounds from the hallway, and you just notice you left the door open.
“Don’t you dare try anything,” says Alex, standing on the door’s threshold.
“You better stop playing with that thing,” Derek walks in behind Alex, Max in tow.
“At least until it stops smelling of smoke,” Max adds.
“Hey, we’re in my room! Don’t invade our privacy!” Jeremiah protest.
“We heard noise and came to see what happened,” Max explains.
“You’re the kids of the house,” Alex deadpans. “There’s no privacy for you two.”
“And you better keep this door open,” Derek says before all three of them walk away down the hallway.
Jeremiah grumbles loudly. “From all the times Derek could join in Alex’s jokes, it had to be this one.”
You laugh and squeeze his hands back, already feeling your heart lighter.
Siliva
“Hi, my dear!” Siliva says as soon as she opens the door. Immediately, she notices your crestfallen expression and places a hand on your shoulder. “What’s wrong?”
You hesitate to answer, and she cups your cheek.
“First, let’s talk inside,” her smile turns from worriedly to reassuringly. “Let’s go sit.”
Entering the room behind her, she sits on the side of the bed, and you follow. She wraps her arms around you, pressing you to her.
“It’s okay. You can tell me anything. You know it, right?”
You wrap your hands around her waist and let yourself relax in her embrace.
“A nightmare...” you manage to whisper.
One of her hands goes to the back of your head, caressing your hair.
“I’m sorry these nightmares keep plaguing you. But remember, you’re not alone.”
She leans back to look into your eyes.
“You have your father, your brothers, you have me.”
You close your eyes and feel the gentle kiss she places on your cheek.
“With all of us, you’ll never be alone.”
Lorian/Locke
You enter Lorian/Locke’s room and find them sitting cross-legged on the bed, a book on their lap.
“Good morning. I thought you were going to sleep,” they say, looking at you.
“Why are you up so late?” you say.
“Vampire’s eyes are designed to see at night,” they explain. “But even still, it is easier to read a book in the sunlight than the moonlight.”
You sit on the side of the bed, leaning close to them to see the book’s pages.
“Well, it certainly is, considering the curtains aren’t even drawn.”
“The sun’s up at its highest. I know better than to calcinate myself,” they deadpan, and you chuckle. “I hope not to pry, but you did not answer.”
They close the book and look at you seriously.
“I had a nightmare,” you say directly.
They nod slowly. “Do you want to talk about it?”
You shake your head, and they nod again.
Then you feel their arm slowly sliding to your shoulders, pulling you close to them. And with their other hand, they open the book.
“Do you want me to start this chapter all over again?” they ask softly, shyly.
With this, they start reading the book out loud. You relax at their side, wrapping your arms around them, and listen intently to their words.
???
You knock on the guest’s room door, and they open a few moments later.
“Hey, weren’t you sleeping? It’s still so early,” they say when they see you.
You turn to see the nearest window. There’s sunlight behind the curtains.
“Y-Yeah, I just wanted to see you.”
“I would be happy if that was the only reason,” they give you a sad smile and reach for your hand.
You let them guide you inside the room, where they sit on the bed’s headboard, pulling at your hand to sit beside them.
“Sit with me,” they whisper.
You follow them and sit by their side. Their arms circle your waist, and your head lands on their shoulder.
“I’m sorry these nightmares keep plaguing you.”
Their head comes to rest on yours.
“I’m sorry. I can’t do anything to stop them.”
“It’s not your fault,” You try to reassure them.
One of their hands cups your cheek, caressing it with their thumb.
“I’m here, and I won’t go anywhere.”
You close your eyes and feel them kiss your temple.
“I won’t let anything happen to you...”
You don’t catch the rest of what they say as sleep envelops you.
ROs reaction to MC trying to seduce them to coax them into letting them doing something hella dangerous? I wonder who will give in and who will not
Derek: No. No way around it, no condition. A definite no. His better judgment won’t let him permit something dangerous.
Max: He can be persuaded... But it really depends on what MC wants to do. Nothing too extreme, and he’s in. Otherwise, he’ll say no.
Alex: Easy. He’ll say yes. No matter what it is. MC doesn’t even have to convince him. Just one condition: he’ll come along. More so if it’s something very dangerous as he’ll want to be close to protect them.
Jere: He’ll say no and be very vocal about convincing MC to not do it.
Siliva: She’ll likely say no, but it depends on the situation.
Lorian/Locke: They will think about it logically and can either agree or disagree.
???: They will say no. They will never forgive themself if MC gets hurt.
