I'm just sick to death of it. Sick of seeing the petty be//arke vs becho & Echo vs Clarke comparisons, sick of seeing people not be physically able to talk about Echo without mentioning their preference for be//arke in the same breath. I'm sick of reading some really thoughtful, wonderfully written metas, but being unable to reblog them because OP focused in on be//arke by the end, spoke about be//arke as if their interpretation was fact, rigid and indisputable, or spoke ill of Echo/becho where it had no place being within that meta. My absolute main issue with this pairing is it's fandom. I'm not a big shipper myself, but I understand it, and i'm totally pro-it. But with this particular ship it's reached a point where I feel personally buried underneath it all. Even using blacklist you can't not see it because of mistagging, and it leads to missing out on so much content, too. You can't critique the ship unless you want angry defensive anons (not in any way exclusive to be//arke shippers, but that doesn't make it any less annoying). It invades. It consumes. Which makes being in this fandom exhausting sometimes.

What do you think is Emori's best look?

I am now very hyper aware of the ever-changing nature of Emori’s face tattoo. WOW.

Her tattoo, and to some extent her head scarf, are what stand her apart from others. Her costumes aren’t that remarkable. Which I suppose makes sense considering she’s a thief who lives day-by-day and not a particularly powerful person with numerous and vibrant possessions. But that doesn’t mean i’m not still disappointed lol. Especially when we see other characters getting to try 3-5 looks per season.

She doesn’t even have any markers of a specific clan because she was cast out. She’s very seperate from everything, and looks it, which makes her appear uninteresting even though she isn’t.

The Grand Oxymoron

Grounder in space. Her season five look is my favourite. I love that she still has her headwear, but it’s in a whole new style! This was such a dramatic change in her look and yet she still retains her identity and her roots. It’s so unique to her character and I can’t understand why they discarded it for six (sigh). The blueish tones in her outfit are alike the rest of spacekru, and portray a belonging she now has. She’s found her clan and now has those markers that she didn’t have before.

She is apart of the group. An asset. Space allowed her to grow in ways the world never permitted or accepted. And this all shows on the outside. She doesn't hide her hand. This Emori feels like her best, most contented self.

About looks as a whole, so assume my distaste for the use of the bindi on the commander. Likely to be female-focused since the men are dull. Deliberately left out the ones that were supposed to be bad like Feral Clarke and Murphy trapped in the lighthouse.

Worst Looks

That’s an *absolutely not* on the white girl dreads. I don’t know what’s going on with the outfit, and the metallic blue sleeves, and frankly, I don’t wanna know. Something about this look feels ‘unclean’ and the poor thing is being squashed by her own hair.

The mop look was very in during season three.

Over-dressed

That’s so not Raven. Apparently there was a selective beauty salon in those cryo-pods. I can’t understand why they suddenly decided to do this to the women, or…to Raven, Echo and Emori. This level of unnatural-ness was entirely unnecessary.

Panda Eye

The full panda look is unfortunate. She looked much more intimidating once it faded.

Still finding that divide in the fashion of Sanctum weird.

Clarke was never my favorite character by a long shot but I think the issue is that the writers,Jason and Eliza can’t decide if they want Clarke to be a ruthless leader who doesn’t care about anyone else or a sympathetic girl who got “pushed into power” (even tho she put herself there) from one scene to the next

I completely agree. I’ve been contemplating whether there’s a miscommunication somewhere or if the actors are actively playing their parts in a different way than they are written on paper. Jason has a hard on for plot, he’ll sacrifice anything to make it happen. So it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he actually intends Clarke to be sympathetic and lovable, but in order for the plot to work he needs her to be ruthless and void of any self-awareness. I think the drastic changes from anti-hero to selfless leader/saviour are, to some extent, the writers trying to have their cake and eat it, too. I think they might be desperate for us to root for her so they won’t commit to any of the decisions they make about her. They leave her with very little internal life (i love this description @johnmurphysreddit ) because it’s safer.

The men are kinda boring. There’s way less variation. We don’t ever see Bellamy wearing intricate braids and a corset, or see him waltzing into scene with five buckles all tied around his body from odd directions. I have the same issue with Raven, who essentially wears the same outfit her entire time on the show, just like…in different colours, and Emori, Echo, and Harper who all seem to have very little effort put into their styling compared to others. It’s a shame, for me, who enjoys looking at pretty things. I’ll try this out, but I’ll probably disappoint you!

This guard outfit is very sexy of skaikru. The way Bellamy would saunter around in that, oh he knew.

The earth day shirt and the goggles are a classic. Can’t go wrong.

Sky Babe pt 2

Jasper looked very sweet and pretty season three onwards. The short hairstyle and facial hair suits him well. Also I love the way the loss of his more boyish features shows this shift in his character. A sorta hardened demeanor from devistation of mount weather. Innocence is a casualty of war and all that.

Because You’re Worth it

We’ve had plenty of grounder women of many clans and styles, distinguishable from one another, and very few grounder men. The ones we did have blended together. Ilian was something different. Long hair, odd braids, and a face tattoo. Lace-up sleeves because why not? A distinct look. Refreshing.

The Pilot

In terms of who’s look is my favourite: Shaw. Just in general. He’s hot. I like his star tattoos.

Walk Walk Fashion Baby

The black fur was a nice change. Usually Azgeda are seen in white. He’s got a few belts, an arm…thing. A lot more interesting than other male costumes.

Pretty Damaged

I don’t really have an explanation for this one, my brain just goes: Pretty!! The shirt’s a nice colour on him even though it’s so simple. Also, curly dark hair is always a good look to me.

— Is it over? This was so HARD. The men are the least interesting thing to look at in this show because while yes they can be very attractive, the way they’re dressed and styled contributes almost nothing.

Wick was dead and Shaw and I were already a week into our honeymoon before you even hit send. Bellamy’s obviously the one I have to bed just so I can settle this once and for all: is he really the sex God everyone wants him to be?

What do you think about Eliza's acting?

I’ve said this before, a while ago i believe, that I think my opinion of Clarke distorts my perception of Eliza’s acting. Sometimes I find she’s playing Clarke in a way that doesn’t line up with my interpretation of canon…more sympathetically, for example, when she’s treating other people terribly or pushing herself into positions uninvited, so it can pull me out of her scenes. I get the impression Eliza wants Clarke to be liked no matter what. In the past I probably would’ve attributed most of the blame for this to the writers or anyone else directing what the actress does, but for a while now i’ve been side-eyeing what looks to be a massive disconnect between writer and actor. So who knows? There have been many times I've enjoyed her performance, but I also can’t treat those instances in the same way I do others, i’m able to pull specific scenes by other cast members and say exactly what I like about them. I can't do that for Eliza. Right now I can’t think of a time she’s made me feel strongly enough.

Bottom line: Clarke is a very bland character with very few significant and interesting dynamics so an actress portraying that character just doesn’t catch my eye. I think perhaps if i saw her in something else i’d be able to come up with a more informed opinion.

what do you want from the 100 season 7?

Honestly I haven’t even really thought about it. My expectations are so low you couldn’t even limbo under the line. My main wish that I’ll yell into the void along with a handful of pennies is: a focused plot. If Jason is gonna throw characterization and consistency out to the wolves, he might as well focus on and deliver a plot worth something, no? S6 was weak. It took suspension of disbelief and pushed too hard. A lot of the dialogue was forced and information was much too shoehorned in. I guess i just want things to be more fluid, and a lot less messy. The body snatching/new planet/new people plot could’ve been good i think if they actually, y'know, did something with it. Instead they used it as a vehicle for restoring the status quo among the remaining characters. They threw Murphy back into his survivor gear, and Bellamy back into his ‘good knight’ trope, put Clarke back in the good books and onto her pedestal, Octavia was back to being an outsider embarking on a false redemption arc another personal adventure seperate from the rest and- you get the idea. They also just had to give us a new big bad in an attempt to convince us our mains are still good people. I don’t need any more of that. No thank you. This went on a tangent. Sorry!

In short: I’d like if there was a coherent plot that doesn’t ultimately end in war with our main characters killing everyone that isn’t them. There’s only so many times you can recycle a plot. How many has there been so far? Three? Oof. I’d like there to be only one or two plots/subplots so they might be more detailed and well-developed, perhaps better paced, and so we can pay a little more attention to the characters for the final run.
