.*This isn't Heartland*.[[open]]
Thick dew had already began to settle in the grass, preparing for the start of a new day. The star's twinkle looked duller in the dawn light. Even the dull pink aura of the distant sun was enough to outshine them. How sad. A lone teen sighed, slightly disappointed to see the stars leave. In the deep folds of his memory, the teen vaguely recalled some of the constellation he'd been shown as a boy. But he simply could not recall what time of year they would be visible. Not that he could make out any shapes in the first place, with such blurry vision. Didn't seem too pretty now, just a bunch of fuzzy dots. And the wetness had worked its way onto his overcoat, weighing down the fabric. But when would he ever get to experience such a beautiful night, in such tranquility...
Wait a second...
Since when does Kaito Tenjou care about 'beauty' and 'tranquility'?
And where the hell am I???
As any other disoriented person might do, the hunter flung up, his eyes frantically darting around for any familiar landmark. It was no good though, everything looks alien to him. Not even the ground resemble the lush growth of his hometown, Heartland. It had a brown tint to it, making the spurts look dead, sad. Quaint shops dotted his peripheral, opposed to the sight of high-rise towers and the healthy glow of a utopia. This place seems wrong. Deep wrong.
Why was Kaito here? What was his purpose?
Rising from the damp growth, the blonde turned his heels to face the barren stone path ahead, leading straight into the town. But before he could depart, there was that feeling again. As if another being was watching him. Piercing him with another gaze. Fascinated by him.
"Alright, hide-and-seek is over!! I don't like to play games, so I'd suggest making yourself visible before I start calling the shots!!" Kaito mused to no one in particular. Whoever was spying couldn't be much of a threat if they couldn't even show their face. Even so, the hunter flicked his wrist, ready to latch his duel anchor onto any potential threat.
