Great little film about something I’ve always had a but of a fascination for.

“Roadliners is a film about inspiration and craft, and the uncelebrated typographers of the road.”
This six minute video shows the craftsmanship on the surfaces we travel by almost everyday. It is oddly satisfying to watch, and it is interesting to admire how the paint on the roads are set down. The process that is put into place to make sure the paint is neat and tidy on the road is quite interesting. A grid drawn on with chalk is to measure the width and height in metres, after you have the preparation of the paint and where to begin. Then the laying of the paint, how it has to be done by two people and be consistent to create that smooth texture on the road using a metal box attached on a pole. Like the worker says, “it’s something that everyone will use on the road”, yet it is something we don’t even take into consideration when travelling by.
