So billiethepoet and eccecorinna came through with stuff for me to ramble about. :) Inside: why I don't have a favorite joke, and my complex Susan Foreman-related feelings.
Oh man, consultingpiskies asked me about music and singing, so I had to answer, AT LENGTH: "You were a music ed major for a couple of semesters?! And you sang (sing?) Since you mentioned dribs and drabs of Latin/German/French, I'm going to presume classical at least some of the time. Alto? Favorite piece? Composer? Did/do you prefer a cappella or symphonic? Thoughts about the state of music/arts ed in the US? This must be why I love your voice. Singers are always so resonant. (Sorry about the barrage of questions. Classical music is my thing.)"
Seriously. If you sit through all of this, I probably owe you cookies or something.
Oh! I forgot one of my favorite choral pieces: Salvation is Created by Chesnokov. That's another one I still sing around the house, and I haven't sung it in a choir in 20 years, easily.
So corpsereviver2 asked "What is something that if you had sufficient time or money or both that you'd like to learn/ research for the joy of it?"
To which I tell you stories about my college majors. I don't even know. It's getting close to midnight here and my brain is fried. :)
Got questions? Ask 'em, I'll answer tomorrow. :)
Talkative again :)
I think it's time for me to ramble again. Got something you want to hear me talk about? Drop me a line. Maybe won't happen tonight, but then again, I just drank a pot of tea, so it might.
shinysherlock asked: Requesting ramble re: your writing process. Do you plot stuff out or pants it? Do you have a place/time/environment that works well, or is it catch as catch can? Etc. (Or, just ramble about John Watson. That's always acceptable.)
So, this one got kind of long, and if you listen to all of it, you probably deserve a cookie or something. :) I mentioned my outlining process, and realized that my initial synopsis/outline for Pull the Stars from the Sky is up on Google docs, so if you're curious, here it is. I just reread it, and WOW did a lot of things change. :)
As always, yell if you have questions.
So for this round, billiethepoet asks, "What are we going to do at 221b together?!?!" And I proceed to geek out.
And consultingpiskies asks, "Could you talk about a favorite place?"
Ask away!
