We estimate this piece is around the beginning of the 1800's given the manufacturing method and the style of the single handle. It has seen heat and pressure, it's been used and cleaned daily for generations, this pan has seen, possbily the French Revolution, certainly the First World War, the Great Depression and the Moon Landings and still it comes back for more. It has solid copper handles and each is fixed with four rivets a real sign of exceptional quality. This is all solid and fit for purpose. The lid has a void within the two parts of the lid to ensure even cooking and will keep the heat in beautifully. Hot coals can also be placed on the top to ensure total all around heat. This design has been used since before the Revolution and is still made today.
