Samoan Joe’s by Southern Heights Brewing Co.

Southern Heights is one of Austin’s newest breweries (they’ve only been open for a few months). Housed in a large warehouse building in far East Austin, they have an interesting aesthetic, colorful but minimalist with a lot of natural wood. They had quite a few good beers but this one was the highlight. Samoan Joe’s is a porter with a lot of roasty malt and coffee flavors. There’s a hint of smooth caramel sweetness and a pronounced hop accent in the finish. Everything is balanced well and it’s a great example of the style.

Pretzel Stout by Martin House Brewing Co.

Pretzel Stout is by Fort Worth, TX based Martin House. There’s almost no head on this beer which is not always typical for a stout but I have had a few that a more syrupy than creamy that do this. Not that this one is syrupy though. Chocolate-tinged roasty malt flavor comes through as well as caramel but even these are hard to distinguish underneath the salt. I get that the salt needs to be there because it’s trying to emulate a German soft pretzel but there’s still a bit too much of it.

My faceclaim for ivan is Bradley James, though I tend to edit his face myself to make him look more like how I imagine Ivan! I love making fun edits of him. Here's some!

I am 28, so I prefer not to interact with minors as much as possible, though I will support your art regardless of age! I enjoy getting commissions, doing art trades, and speaking with other breaking bad universe oc creators! I have a list of chronic illnesses, some very serious. I am disabled due to such. I like to spend the time I have helping people advocate medically as well as helping out in an abuse victim support group!
