Rob Callender plays Charlie Welsborough (Wellsborough?) in TST (x)
It seems likely that Charlie is related in some way to David Wellsborough (played by Charles Edwards).
I’m also guessing he’s likely a fairly major character, based on the fact that he’s seemingly related to another character, they both have full names (not just first or last), and Mark mentioned Rob in a tweet (which I’m guessing would be fairly unlikely if Rob were only in one small scene or something):
(HUGE thanks to @hotsmugstache for helping me with this.)
Alex Austin & Rob Callender new roles; Josh O’Connor Screen Daily Star of Tomorrow
Well, two updates in one week. It’s certainly an exciting time for faves getting on stage.
Alex Austin maintains his reputation for featuring in harrowing plays by next taking a role at the Arcola Theatre called Thebes Land. First we had Yen, then we had Fury, and now Thebes Land described thusly:
Thebes Land, by Sergio Blanco, stars Trevor White and Alex Austin and looks closely at the crime of patricide. The show has on-stage participation from Martin Santos, who has been convicted of patricide, and is staged inside a large protective cage. The show runs from 30 November to 23 December.
Meep. Tickets on sale now for 30th Nov - 23rd Dec.
FINALLY. OMG FINALLY. Yes, finally Rob Callender will be back on stage. And gosh hasn’t it been a long time coming. He will be storming up the stage in The Shakespeare’s Globe production of Comus - A Masque in Honour of Chastity, an adaptation of the John Milton poem. Sounds intriguing and honestly I am just glad about seeing Rob on stage again!! Comus plays from 26th Oct - 19th Nov and is on sale now.
Finally, it would be remiss not to congratulate Stage Crush fave Josh O’Connor on being chosen as one of Screen Daily’s Stars of Tomorrow. Every year they present a list of both actors, directors, writers, etc, that they identify as being future stars. It’s awesome that Josh was included in this list.
Stage Crush faves often appear on these lists because they are awesome talents. :)
