Jackie Chan - Rob-B-Hood (2006)
This stunt sequence is from lesser known Jackie Chan film, Rob-B-Hood. But can we just take a minute to admire the size of Jackie’s balls? One slip. One mistimed move. He’s dead. Whether it’s from a roller coaster crushing him or just a fall to the ground.
And to think, this isn’t even one of Jackie’s action movies. It’s 85% a comedy with a few action set-pieces here and there. So Jackie makes a comedy and still decides to do a bonkers roller coaster stunt.
Oh damn, it was actually much safer than I thought. I just ruined the movie magic for myself. you can spoil it all for yourself here. Basically, it’s wires and camera trickery. Not that I’d do it, mind you.

Rob-B-Hood 2006
I saw:
Robin-B-Hood - Two thieves temperorarily pause in a heist of medications from a hospital to save a baby falling a foiled kidnapping. They go on with their criminal lives, forgetting about the incident. However those lives aren’t quite as perfect as they might claim. One thief is a gambling addict, painfully estranged from his disapproving father and the rest of his family. The other is a womanizer, selfishly paying no mind to his poor neglected young wife to spend into debt on other women. Their boss has wife that’s been off mentally and cuddling a plastic doll as their own child since the death of their own son years before. And then they get hired for an unusual job: abduct the baby they saved.
And that’s the center of the story. Through a sequence of events the two thieves find themselves stuck taking care of a baby, a baby not only the police would want to recover but the mysterious client’s goons want to get their hands on too. Cue clueless fumbles with parenting, dirty diaper humor, action scenes, and the inevitable baby love. Still when they are offered more money than they had ever imagined to hand over the baby they reluctantly agree. But when it becomes clear not in the interest of the child they now care deeply for it looks like money isn’t everything after all.
Jackie Chan stars in this super sentemental action comedy. It’s ridiculously sappy, but does have a few surprisingly ungoopey moving moments too. If you can handle the cute on overload and predicatably sweet ending it’s a really fun film. Over all it was better than I was expecting with the cute baby on the DVD cover.
But that title? It’s like something thought up by a computer! I guess it’s better than all those Jackie Chan titles where it’s so generic I can never remember if I’ve seen it. No, this one is worse. It has a sort of cringe factor when you say it...

Here’s another Jackie Chan fight that a few of you might not have seen. It’s from a pretty much ignored film called Rob-B-Hood from 2007.
Yes, there’s a moment where Jackie smears baby shit into a bad guy’s face but, save for that moment, it’s a pretty solid fight scene. Nice exchanges, some great prop work and it ends with pretty solid stunt.
The film itself isn’t really that bad. And it actually features the last time Jackie ever fought his “little brother,” Yuen Biao. It’s definitely more of a comedy than a flat-out action but it’s certainly worth a watch if you like Jackie’s brand of humor.
