What are 5 characters and/or ships that you didn't like at first but then grew on you? And what are 5 characters and/or ships that you liked at first but then grew to dislike?

5 characters/ships I didn’t like at first but grew on me:

In no particular order

1. Claude Valois (Reign)

When she was first introduced all we knew about her is that she had some kind of incest hookup with Bash in the past. (Wtf was that? I mean I’m glad it got dropped but why was it ever a thing?) So…not a great intro lol. But over time I realized Claude was the best thing about S2 of Reign. She was sassy, entertaining, and brought such a fun air to the show. She accomplished the impossible task of making Leith somewhat likable to me lol. I wish she had been around since the start of the show because she ended up being in my top 3 faves.

2. Maiko (ATLA)

I still think Zutara (and Maizula) outsells by a laaaarge margin but Maiko has grown on me and I think they’re okay. They have some cute moments and I see the appeal. I will definitely take them over K*taang lol

3. Klaus/Camille (The Originals)

I still don’t fully ship them because tbh, I hate Klaus too much to really be invested in any of his ships lol. But looking back on it, their story was pretty good and Cami was hands down the love of Klaus’ life. People who say it was Caroline are kidding themselves.

And I think that might be all…I’m a hater by nature I guess. Once I don’t like a ship or character it’s usually pretty rare for me to change my mind about them,

Ships/characters I liked at first but grew to dislike (this one will be easier lmao)

1. Rey (Star Wars)

Sighs. Rey had potential as a character but she quickly ended up being extremely poorly written. She has no distinct personality traits because they seemed to change it each movie. Disney seems to think making a strong female character just requires her to be ‘badass’ and not much else. Not interesting, not realistically flawed, and not relatable. Blah. Give me Leia and Padme over her any day.

2. Stefan/Caroline (TVD)

I thought they had potential in S2 but once they happened they had zero romantic chemistry lol. And it was annoying that JP made everyone fall in love with Caroline.

3. Spike (btvs)

I thought Spike was funny and entertaining but as I get older I grow more uncomfortable with a lot of his behavior towards Buffy. And the way the writers prioritized him above everything in S7? Nah

4. Bellamy/Clarke (The 100)

Used to ship them but after Cl*xa happened the fans showed their homophobic asses and turned me off from the ship. (I don’t like CL either but some of the reactions to it from BC shippers was horrible). Thinking back on it they weren’t ever really compelling anyway. I think I was just trying to get in on the popular ship lol

5. Gemma Teller (Sons of Anarchy)

S6….enough said. It’s a shame too because I found her enjoyable in the first 4 seasons and Katey Sagal was great in the role.
