Robert Chase wasn’t the type to hold back once he decided to commit.

When you two started dating, he absolutely showered you with everything you could need and want: gifts, food, dates, you name it.

It was like he had been waiting for years to smother you in his love(he did, but he would never tell you that).

Both of you worked long hours at the hospital, so it was pretty common to find little gifts on your desk or in your locker.

The first time you left a gift for him, well, you broke him a little. He was just so happy and excited.

It was a small thing, but he paraded it around the hospital, showing it to everyone, even though he knew the others would tease him mercilessly.

It was safe to say, you didn’t expect that reaction. Not that you minded it.

In fact, it made you get him even more gifts.

Eventually, it became a game of who could get the other the most presents.

Your shared apartment was full of little trinkets.

There was something about you that made him want to go the extra mile. You might have found candles lit when you came home or a surprise date planned just for the two of you.

The most romantic moments were the simplest.

He isn’t great at expressing emotions. He mostly did it through actions.

He’d sneak his hand into yours while walking down the hospital hallways or give you a quick kiss before heading off to do rounds.

If you two were having a conversation and someone interrupted, he might playfully put his arm around you, as though claiming you in the most subtle way possible.

It was just his way of showing that you were his.

If you were ever stressed, he always stepped in and took care of things so you didn’t have to.

Whether it was helping with a difficult patient or just making sure you had a quiet evening to unwind.

There were moments when he got a little vulnerable, usually late at night when you were curled up together.

He just loves watching movies or reading books side by side.

He doesn't need anything big or extravagant, just being in your company is enough to make him happy.

Sometimes, after a stressful day, he pulls you into a tight hug, like he was absorbing all the bad energy from your day just to give you a moment of peace.

His playful side came through when you were alone, and you’d often find him teasing you with little jokes or sarcastic comments.

It was never mean—more like a way for him to just make you laugh.

And when you were apart, He’d text you little things throughout the day, just to remind you that you were on his mind.

Usually, it was a simple "thinking of you" or just something strange he had encountered.

Even though you both worked long hours you found time for each other.

You always had his back, and he always had yours. And you would as long as you lived.

-after cameron he gets very insecure,so he needs constant reassurance that you actually does love him!

-small action that shows hes always paying attention to you;like pulling up the lose strap of your summer dress,covering the sharp edge of the tables with his hands so you dont bump on it and hurt yourself,refilling your bottle with cold water when he sees its running out,this type of thing.

-when he has the aux on the car and a romantic song comes on he sings in looking directly at you in a serenade style,bonus if the singer has a deep voice or an accent,then hes doing a full blown impression.

Watching House MD and Chase is already my favourite character. Two things:

He's def got ADHD and prob age regresses.

He's so good with kids. The way he acts around them, talks to them, wakes something up in me.

Do you have any headcanons about thirteen and chase or chase and house dynamics? (Or Chase’s dynamic with anyone tbh I love him and how weird he is with people)

I have too many thoughts about Chase all the time! Let’s see what I have re: dynamics headcanons.

Chase & House:

They hang out. In season 4, we have House and Chase going bowling, s5 the bachelor party. In season 6 we have speed dating and karaoke. I think House hangs out with Chase fairly regularly in s5 and s6. (Seasons 1-3 and 7-8 are what they are, of course. And in s4 and early s5, Chase is building healthy boundaries with House—which I could talk about all day—and in early s6, House is scared of hurting Chase because of the Strawberry Incident.) But I think they go out together at least once a month later on in s5 and s6.

Chase & Thirteen:

Honestly my best ideas about them are fanon rather than head canon. But boy do I love this pair. When Thirteen comes back after killing her brother, it’s implied that Chase’s invitation for coffee is so that he can tell her about Dibala. Since that convo and the one where he’s doubting everything bc of Cameron, I think the two of them have some absolutely banger off-screen locker room conversations. I think they tend to not hang out very much, because Thirteen is super private, and Chase hates putting himself out there with invitations. But every time he can tell she needs him, and every time she asks, I think they hang out. And I think she asks, sometimes, after she leaves PPTH for good.

Chase & Cameron (for funsies):

I think they make up sometime between s6 and s8. Because they sit close and seem to comfort each other a bit at House’s funeral (Chase has obviously been sobbing his eyes out). It’s plausible that they came to terms at the funeral, but that seems unlikely. I think maybe they made amends sometime in s7.

A/N: Hello dear! Thank you for the request! I'm gonna try headcanons since it's something I haven't done before. He is my latest obsession. I have a thing for blondes with daddy issues I'm afraid.

You had known Robert Chase for years, long before you ended up on House's team. From med school to residency, you'd always been by each other's side. Through late-night study sessions, exams, and cases.

Now, let's say a surgery went wrong, and the patient died on the table. Foreman announces the time of death:

Chase couldn't believe it. That wasn't what was supposed to happen. They had been working nonstop on this case for days. They had finally figured out what was wrong. The patient couldn't just die.

The OR is quiet after Foreman announces the time of death.

You exchange a look with Chase, seeing the disbelief and frustration in his eyes. This wasn’t supposed to happen.

He's usually composed in these situations, but today is different. This case was personal to him.

He was barely out of his scrubs before you hugged him tightly. No words were spoken, just the warmth of your embrace.

You felt him freeze for a second, but then, slowly, his arms wrapped around you. He held onto you like you were the only thing keeping him grounded.

You two went back to your apartment after that and had some wine and takeout. He left at 5.

He's pretty sure that day(night technically) was when he realized he was in love with you.

And that he had been for a while.

It was a hell of a way to find out since it was because of a patient's death

He felt guilty about it.

Then there were other things too, on the one hand, he was scared he was going to ruin your friendship.

On the other, he isn't one to hide how he feels, and it felt wrong not to tell you just how much he wanted to be more than a friend to you.

And you were co-workers.

What if you rejected him if he told you how he felt? He couldn't work with you after that!

It takes a few months of debating— and a 'therapy session' with Wilson— with himself to decide to tell you.

In these months, though, he had started distancing himself from you.

You started to worry. Chase’s distance hurt more than you’d like to admit. You wonder if he’s just tired, or stressed, or if maybe something deeper is going on. Did you do something wrong? You didn't want to lose him.

When you just couldn't take it anymore, you basically hunted him down and dragged him to an empty MRI room to ask him what the hell was going on and if you were the reason for it.

It’s the last thing he wanted—for you to think you had done something wrong.

This wasn't how he wanted to tell you.

He sighs, rubs the back of his neck nervously, and finally says, "This isn't how I wanted to— I don’t know how to say this..." 

"I didn’t want you to think I was—I didn’t want to ruin what we have. But I care about you, like, really care. I'm in love with you."

You can see the fear in his eyes, the fear that he might lose you for good. You feel something else though, relief and joy. You grin brightly.

"You scared me, Chase. I thought I was losing you."

He looks confused. "What? So-"

"I love you too," you confessed. "For a while now, actually."

His expression shifts from confusion to pure joy. The realization that you’ve felt the same way brings a brightness to him.

He grinned, pulling you closer, and for the first time in weeks, everything felt right. You’re no longer just colleagues or friends— and it was exhilarating.

Both of you were sure you would figure out what to do from here.

You were never safe from the team teasing after you two told them you were dating

And of course, money was won and lost by all.

Because of course, they made a bet on you and Chase, What, you didn't expect that?

-not very talkative, pretty shy

-ROBBIE. not Bobby. Not Rob. Not Robert. Chase is acceptable. will not respond to other forms of his name (nicknames are adored)

-cg house and wilson (maybe occasional babysitting from cuddy or thirteen)

-mostly involuntary, will almost always attempt to hide his headspace. this is never very successful. pre-house knowing, he either hid somewhere and got berated later for hiding or fell asleep or contributed nothing to the ddx, which also would have gotten him mocked. post-house knowing he just always can tell. kinda hard to hide being a toddler. pre-other people knowing they didn't clock it as regression (bc that's prolly not something they're really thinking about) but they were confused.

-takes everything at face value. does not understand house sarcasm the way he does when big.

-incredibly sensitive to the tones and words people use. confused by some of them (see: sarcasm), so he defaults to "they hate me". you cannot jokingly say anything mean to him because he will be Devastated. also doesn't even have to be directed at him; hostility in a room brings him to tears whether he's involved in the conflict or not

-doesn't really have tantrums? more the silently crying type. generally incredibly agreeable (he does not want to make them hate him by misbehaving)

-likes pengu, tinkerbell, and direct-to-home-video disney sequels.
