Best of 2020 TV Shows #23: Better Call Saul (AMC)

The pieces of Jimmy, Mike, and Gus move closer to their Breaking Bad starting positions in the prequels penultimate chapter.

In the wake of losing his brother Jimmy slowly begins to give himself to the Saul alter ego he had been building up. All while Alienating Kim who sees herself less willing to go along with the plan to further her own blossoming trajectory.

Gus and Mike slowly draw the ire of Salamanca altering their fates and the underbelly of Albuquerque going forward.

All the while cinnabon manger Gene slowly begins to wonder if his past has truly disappeared forever.

Five seasons in and still this actually holds bars to its original source material.

With Odenkirk providing no doubts in his ability by this point.

Now we hope Jimmy’s final turn to Saul will be as promising as has been built up.

SUM 22: Law and order becomes more convulsed than ever in the lives of Jimmy, Kim, Mike and Gus.

Late night wip because it’s been a while since I’ve posted one, and also because I’m trying something new by going more “painterly”. It’s nowhere near finished, but I really like how it’s starting to look. Plus it’s always good practice!

If it looks familiar, it’s because it’s based on John Singer Sargent’s portrait of Mrs. Abbott Lawrence Rotch.

The girl is another oc of mine. Her name is Beatrice Forester, and she is Margo’s mother and Robert’s twin sister. This is supposed to be a painting of her when she was young.

Last post of 2016, so Happy New Year!

Here are more OCs of mine for a little story I’m creating, plus this was a good opportunity for me to start drawing older characters. I honestly don’t know what “Dark Fire” will turn into in the end, but I’m having fun with these characters nonetheless. I would’ve drawn more for this post, but the battery on my tablet stopped working 🙃. Lastly, the logo is heavily influenced by Yoshitaka Amano’s work and the archetype of “Death and the Maiden”.

I won’t go into story details now, but here are some small bios for the characters above:

Robert Forester: A well-renowned doctor and leader of House Forester. He is Margo’s uncle. Despite his calm and polite demeanor, he is no longer as radiant as he once was when he was younger. Many suspect he has lived a life of misery and regret ever since the death of his family and the downfall of his house. Margo is the only living relative he has left.

Mrs. Kingsley: Mr. Kingsley's poise wife and Annie's strict mother. She can be arrogant and self-centered due to the powerful status of her family, but she is more widely known for her beauty, which hasn't waned despite her age.

Frederick Degas: Leader of House Degas and Maxim's older brother. Despite being so young for a lord, Frederick is intelligent and wise beyond his age. His high position has granted him a betrothal to Annie Kingsley.

Mr. Kingsley: Lord of the extravagant House Kingsley. He is an effective leader who puts the well-being and prosperity of his house above all else. Although he loves his daughter Annie unconditionally, his marriage has become dull and absent of love over time.
