Grime Family Function DJ Mix by robertluis Tracklistings below. This is a DJ mix with some of my favourite Grime tunes. Some current and some classic. It probably ventures into a few tunes that could be called other genres but the influence of what is seen as Grime now is there. I having been buying the music playing it in my DJ sets and on the Unfold radio show for a while now and personally find a lot of the artists very inspiring. I love the fact JME does not put his videos up on YouTube and makes quality uncompromising music. Wiley is one of those artists that I have bought so much of his music over the years, alongside Public Enemy, James Brown, A Tribe Called Quest, Fela Kuti, DJ Premier he takes up a lot of space in my record collection. I loved Skepta's That's Not Me when I first heard it and it is a big tune at my club night Sonic Switch, great lyrics and a £70 video that won Best Video at the Mobo's! Grime is doing what the best music has done over the decades by creating its own rules and then also breaking them if it feels right (just check F'Off on the mix….purely Bongos and Percussion….is that Grime?).
