It is so fascinating from Center Seat book, how Robert McNeill and Roxann Dawson’s Trek experiences were jumping off point to a career they really want— Directing and producing.

McNeill even said that apart from a few things, he didn’t push back at whatever the writers did because all he cared about is getting to direct an episode.

Roxann Dawson was the same, but with some more interest in having a good story for B’Elanna but what Roxann cared more about is learning to direct and shadow the production.

(She’s also careful not to badmouth Berman. I think mostly because Berman gave her a chance to break through into directing.

Unfortunately, Garrett Wang was not given the same Grace.)

And then unfortunately, this mean once Roxann achieved her dream job, and got a lot of bonafides under her belt she is no longer interested in acting.

She’s done her time in Trek and while she enjoyed filming for Voyager. She’s not interested in returning even as a director.
