Saw a post about how Robert may have have unknowingly been augmented by Shroud when he was a kid and just thinking about after the ear incident Shroud starting his work in order to make Robert safer.

All the fights him knowing Robert will be ok because of his augmentations.

Also with the idea of Shroud being Robert's other dad
