Rereading the Scion Cthulhu Mythos supplement, and I'm still so tickled by one of the pre-made characters being 'The protagonist of The Shadow Over Innsmouth, but subtextually trans'.
(For references sake and for those curious, in the Scion 2nd Edition book Masks of the Mythos, the events of The Shadow Over Innsmouth are mentioned twice: in the Innsmouth section of the guidebook, the protagonist is unnamed (like he is in the actual published version of the story) and referred to by he/him pronouns. Later, the exact same events are described in the backstory of one of the pregen characters, Roberta Olmstead (the female version of Robert Olmstead, which is what the protagonist of Shadow was called in the initial few drafts Lovecraft did), who uses she/her pronouns. It could be a writing error, but... I choose to interpret it as trans, so try and stop me.)
