Some mages from different mage ttrpgs

From left to right, in names (and ttrpgs they're from):

• Mikkel (Mage: the Ascension) – guy from Celestial Chorus, you might've seen him here. Simplifying here and further, he belongs to religious monotheistic mages.

• Ava (Mage: the Awakening) – girl on Path of Mastigos: arcane path of desires, thoughts and mastery over them.

• Hayate (Unknown Armies) – adept of Ustrinaturgy, smoking magick. Unknown Armies have some of weirdest magic schools known to ttrpg.

• Eir (Scion: becoming as gods) – chosen of Baldur, deity of light and all that is good in Norse mythology, who was killed by Loki.

My favourite thing about Netflixvania remains that in season 4 of the original show they present a "scientific" explanation for why vampires are repelled by the cross, in part I think because they realised the unfortunate implications of 'vampires are a worldwide phenomenon but also they're all repelled by explicitly Christian iconography because God provably exists in this universe':

And then season 1 of Castlevania Nocturne, literally the season after this, goes back to 'no, vampires are repelled by the cross because God exists and hates them', and solves the unfortunate implication of every other religion being wrong by pulling a Scion and clarifying that vampires are repelled by EVERY religious symbol explicitly because ALL GODS exist and hate them.

So, news is out that I'm one of the developers for Scion 3E, an Onyx Path game where you play as children of the gods looking to write their own legend. The legend & friend Hiromi Cota kindly picked me as her partner for this adventure.

It has been an honor, and things are shaping up for a wonderful new edition.

Writers are telling us that they loved working on the project and fans are telling us that with us at the helm they are filled with hype & trust for the future, so that probably accounts for something.

I won't tag all the fantastic writers that are also around here because it's not my place to reveal their participation at this stage, but this core has a fantastic team behind.

Scion 3e Announced!

If you didn’t catch it today, we are working on Scion Third Edition! I say we, because your’s truly has wrangled his way into writing the Antagonists and Monsters - so yeah, that pretty freaking cool.

Not much in the way of details yet, but it will be a Storypath Ultra game, core will combine Origin and Hero, into one book, and it will feature ten Pantheons: Æsir, Bogovi, Deva, Loa, Kami, Netjer, Shen, Teotl, Theoi, Tuatha.

More than that, we are Fatebound not to say. But keep your eyes peeled and we hope to see you for crowdfunding in 2027!
