i wish we were able to talk about women's rights without someone mentioning how much they do or don't want to have sex with them. i don't care if you're a lesbian Stop finding worth in women purely from their perceived attractiveness
"I think women should not be expected to shave for societal respect / to avoid discrimination" "yeah🤤 i love bush" ok well that's not what we're talking about is it.
i hate how many posts about trans women deserving respect always devolve into "I love girldick" or "trans rights but I don't want to date a trans person" because that's entirely unrelated to the topic at hand. you should not respond to feminism with "YESSS I loveeee you because I see you as nothing but a sex object" you people sound like other men I get stuck talking with that end up saying "free the nipple so I can see boobies in public" and thinking they're feminists. why can't we just respect women regardless of your attraction to them or not. why does it need to be brought up in every conversation regarding their rights
hope it's alright to screenshot and add your examples <3 very well worded
This is the 85 year old creator of Roger Rabbit:
if you build “community” around hating other people, just know that the second you step out of line—regardless of your moral uprightness or the hypocrisy on their part—you’re the next person they’re going to tear to pieces.
And by the way it doesn’t matter if you claim your community is “pro” something if the main actual behavior of the group is hating the thing labeled as the enemy of the thing you are “in support” of.
As an example, a lot of groups claim to be “pro-women”, when in reality they are actually anti-trans. Their goal is not to uplift women, it’s to harass and criminalize trans people.
So inspect the groups you’re in. Ignore the name of the movement. What are the people in your group actually DOING?
It’s a simple choice really. Either you buy into Trump’s lie that the 2020 election was stolen, or you cannot be a member of his administration. In Trump Administration job interviews, the first question is: “Who won the 2020 election?”
ah yes. because the muslim teen girl would know nothing about oppression if she wasn't a mutant.
it would suck being a new immortal. like it’d be 2109 and people would go, “what was it like seeing ancient civilizations rise and fall like that? seeing the pyramids being built? watching the expansion and growth of the new world?” and i’d just be like, “no…no i was born in 1991. so like, wow i’m gonna see some cool stuff, but, i mean i’m not that much older than just a really, really old person, you know? phones were big back then. so big. but only for like ten years, then they got like, as good as they are now. uh. rhinos existed. don’t think i ever saw one in person. cool, good talk.”
even worse, imagine being an immortal who keeps missing stuff. “What was it like seeing the pyramids being built?” “Fuck if I know, I was in Madagascar.” “Oh, okay. Well, how was the Renaissance?” “I fell down a hole in Scotland and people thought I was an enchanted well for four hundred years, it was over by the time I convinced someone to get me out.”
And now, a lesson in biases:
We barely know anything about Madagascar pre-500CE. We don’t even know whether the island had a permanent population before then, despite finding a bunch of much older signs of temporary human presence.
Malagasy mythology makes mention of the vazimba, a “precursor” ethnic group that might or might not be distinct from Madagascar’s current population.
The point is, we do not know.
So you were in Madagascar when the pyramids were being built in Egypt, i.e. during one of the most obscure, most undocumented parts of Madagascar’s human history?
Oh, buddy, you better go and make a bunch of anthropologists and archeologists really happy RIGHT NOW instead of feeling bad about missing everyone else’s pet Major Event.
It’s been a decade since we left that comment and you have the best reply anyone’s left to it.
Every work of art says things the creator hasn’t considered, but if you’ve really thought about what you’re trying to say then generally the additional dimensions you didn’t know it had are in alignment with your purpose, whereas if you think you’re making no cultural comment at all you are actually making a LOT of cultural comments, most of which will be unflattering to you
Porn is one of the most culturally rich types of media imaginable so the answer is: you cannot do this
“I don’t want to make anything with cultural dimensions. That’s why I only write within the genre that is legally sequestered away from every other kind of storytelling because of my culture’s attitude towards depictions of sex.”
Let’s climb on and chew and get chomped by mama
Me, seeing the first frame of this video: Oh, mama's at the end of her rope. :')

Drone incursions are becoming more and more of an issue when it comes to wildfires, so last year I designed these graphics, but I never got around to sharing them anywhere.
If you send your drone up during a wildfire, even if you don't feel like you are that close, all planes and helicopters in the area may have to be grounded which can have a massive and detrimental effect on first responders' ability to manage that fire.
If you send your drone up and a plane or helicopter hits it, no matter how small your drone is, it could crash that aircraft injuring or killing those on board and potentially people on the ground as well. Even if the aircraft stays up, it will have damage that could ground it for an indeterminate and potentially extensive amount of time, meaning one less resource is available for that fire and other fires.
Just don't do it.
These graphics are free to use and distribute for any non-profit uses! You can check out my Payhip store to download (for free, or pay what you want) a package of files that include vertical versions of each design, print sizes, and social media sizes.

the haunting of hill house by shirley jackson posits "would you rather live in a haunted house that wants to kill you but with a lesbian who makes you feel like you belong somewhere or go back to your normal cishet life where your family has you sleep on the floor" and obviously the house that wants to kill is winning
remember when Elementary adapted the holmes stories and made Watson a woman which removed the gay subtext but then made Moriarty also a woman and gave them weird lesbian subtext. masterful technique. the never-before-seen uno yuri reverse

you know it's really funny how of all the White Boys fandoms become obsessed with, steve harrington really is the most valid one and every good thing about his character came about entirely 100% by accident
he was written in the pilot to be a shitty one-dimensional asshole who gets killed by the monster but the creators liked the actor so much they did a complete 180 and decided he was an actual sweetheart who was just in with the wrong crowd. after the one bad thing he does he decides to go apologize to the boy he thinks his gf is cheating on him with and gets dragged into supernatural shenanigans at the LITERAL last minute but decides to go in there swinging anyway. when making season two the writers had no idea what to do with him so they stuck him with dustin solely bc they had nobody for dustin to bounce scenes off of and it ended up becoming one of the best brotps in television. the rest of the show steve's character is "babysitter." they were gonna give him a love interest but three episodes in the actors said "hey we're not feeling the romance and kinda just feeling platonic. can we make her gay" and so then this shitty 80s jock became the #1 lesbian ally. like literally everything they did with him was completely on accident and it just WORKED
it really is quite bad for your military to have an image of itself as a warrior class. what you really want is for your soldiers to think of themselves as boring professionals who will fill out a report form if someone gets a little too warrior ethos out there
Warhammer 40,000 is of course, uh, not unproblematic. But patterning orks specifically and incredibly blatantly off English football hooligan culture was probably simultaneously the least bigoted and most creative thing literally anyone did with the concept of 'the orc' at any point in the 1980s
It is the English football hooligans divine right to gather in large groups and shout nonsense so loudly that it bends British political reality around them
The thing about Cass is I can 100% believe she throws herself out of windows without warning to escape awkward social situations on the regular. And if there’re no windows, she makes one. That’s just the kind of character she is.
is it just me, or the disney fandom has a weird case of racial bias? all the new female characters, Raya, Mirabel, Asha, Moana, are hated for being 'girlbosses, and the fandom seems to suggest a 'prettier', more 'delicate' and 'feminine' type of princess, which sounds a little weird to me, and regards to the male characters, it's the princes of color who get the most hate. Aladdin the liar, Shang the sexist, Naveen and Maui are manbabies..it feels really insidious, especially when these comments come from the same person.
Yes. I think it started from a place of good intent, wanting to defend the three Walt-era Princesses after so many years of people bashing them and calling them anti-feminist. But it’s taken a turn so that a lot of fans just seem to want more heroines like the Walt-era Princesses and enjoy bashing all the heroines who are less sweet, poised, and delicate - or less white, for that matter.
As for the Princes and other heroes, I have seen the white ones excessively criticized too - e.g. Snow White’s Prince the stalker/necrophiliac, Adam the abuser, John Smith the colonizer, Quasimodo the Nice Guy, Flynn Rider the jerk, Kristoff the boor. And I haven’t personally seen too much criticism of Shang; if anything, I’ve seen more fans who try too hard to insist he does nothing wrong. (“He doesn’t care that she’s a woman, he’s just upset that she lied!”) But I’m sure those defenses are in response to excess criticism that I just haven’t seen. And I can’t get over how hard some people are on Aladdin! It does make you wonder: if the exact same story took place in a European setting, with white characters, would they be as hard on him, or would they empathize a little more?
@princesssarisa
To be fair ...
John Smith WAS a romaticized portrayal of an actual real life colonizer that the Native American comunity has been calling out for decades, so I wouldn’t really put him as unfairly overly criticized like the other male characters.
That's true. When you just take the fictionalized version of John Smith by himself, to write him off as just a colonizer is to ignore his character arc, but the real John Smith had no such redemptive journey, and the story of Pocahontas saving his life was probably fiction.
