Robert Creeley’d sent Allen a ticket to come back from year and half in India for the assembly, which included, Charles Olson,  Warren Tallman, Robert Duncan, Don Allen,  and Denise Levertov.  Allen and Philip Whalen then drove south to Seattle, Portland and eventually to San Francisco, where Allen called home for the rest of 1963.

Here she is. 'Persephone' A stubborn winter wind batters the Spring child from her post in the chilled gardens.
