what are some of your favourite robron + seb headcanons? :)
oop this is late, sorry lorna! ok ok here we go:
- seb has the biggest sweet tooth, just like robert. they discovered this when he was just a baby, while they were on a day out and robert offered him a try of his chocolate ice cream for the first time. from the second seb got a tiny taste of it, his eyes lit up and he’d grabbed the whole thing – cone and all – and tried to get as much of it in his mouth as he could. robert tries to prise it off him but seb’s latched on and he’s not letting go. it takes aaron (who’s laughing so hard he’s nearly wheezing) to step in, wrestling it out of seb’s grip until he finally releases it. there’s ice cream everywhere – all over his face, in his hair, all down his front and on robert’s chest. the ice cream itself is near-demolished, and robert’s left looking at it forlornly, then back to seb like, “that was my ice cream :(” seb gives no fucks, still sticking his hands in his mouth to get one more taste of the delicious food he’d just discovered. “well,” aaron said as he’d pulled out the wet wipes. “he’s definitely your son.”
- as we saw on the show, aaron loves taking baby seb swimming, it’s kind of their thing. aaron doesn’t know what it is, but there’s something he really likes about being in the pool and holding an armband-wearing seb against his chest, skin on skin, and gently lowering him down so he can splash happily in the water, but still keeping a safe grip on him. while he’d already been helping robert take care of seb for a few months by this point, it’s this activity that really makes him feel like his dad, his protector who’s there to make sure he can try out this cool new thing without any harm coming to him. robert will sometimes join them, but he kind of likes that they have something just for the two of them so he doesn’t intrude too often, except to demand as many photos/videos as possible.
- when seb’s just a wee bab, robert basically talks to him like an adult. he’s one of those parents who will have a full-on conversation with his baby, telling him all about his day at work or answering seb’s nonsense babbling like they’re having a very serious discussion (seb: “balskfdlkffblaha”. robert: “no, you’re kidding me. so then what happened??”). aaron has dozens of these ‘conversations’ stored on his phone, they’re the perfect pick-me-up. seb starts talking at a very young age, picking up words with incredible speed, and aaron’s pretty sure it’s down to robert.
- whenever one of his dads has to go away for an overnight work trip, toddler seb will plop himself in their bag while they’re packing and try to hide so they take him with them. if it’s aaron, he’ll make a game of it by pretending not to notice and just keep putting folded clothes in the bag on top of seb, acting like he really is taking him along before pulling him out at the last minute with an apologetic kiss goodbye. this backfires one day, when seb falls asleep in there and – in his rush to get away on time – aaron forgets he and seb had played that game and ends up actually putting the bag in the backseat of the car with seb still in it. they’re about 20 minutes down the motorway before seb wakes up and springs out of the bag, nearly giving aaron a heart attack in the process. it’s then that he also realises that robert’s been ringing his phone (which he’d left on silent) in a panic since he left, leaving frantic voicemails saying that he couldn’t find seb anywhere. when aaron immediately calls robert back from the nearest lay-by, stammering out a sheepish explanation, robert doesn’t know whether to laugh or shout.
