Reappearance

If he was honest, Damian couldn’t remember the last time he’s been in Gotham. Being with the league now, gave him little chance to return to the city. It was a recurring theme of further incidents occurring which required the league, that kept him away. All of them, essentially needing his assistance. The members suggested to him a chance to go back, and of course, he took it. It’s been so long, so tiring, that if anything he was actually relieved to be back. Yet, there was something he needed to take care of...Seeing Mari’ again. While away, he’s sent letters, calls, and tried his best to keep in touch with her. If he knew in the first place it would keep him, this long away from her, he would have reconsidered assisting the league. Though what’s done is done and now he needed to see her.
Damian called, only being greeted with a voicemail greeting and when he checked her apartment, there was no success. It discouraged him, not being able to see her tonight. Where was she? Patrolling, maybe...He opted to try again tomorrow. He was hoping that she didn't hate him for staying away from her this long. Now he was having doubts.
Following his unsuccessful search, Damian returned to his own place. He was exhausted. Along with time, being in the league took sleep away. He opened up the door to his bedroom, only to find out that his search had been lucrative. Laying in his bed was Mari’ sleeping soundly. The image alone brought a small smile to his face. Damian made sure to slip off his shoes quietly, placing them to the side, then proceeding to lay down next to her. He instantly held her close, making sure not to wake her, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head. She was beautiful. It was hard for him to stay up, but harder for him to not admire her. Yet, sleep won, causing him to rest next to her.
