Chopper convinced Luffy to do the nest after their mental health checkup. This allowed Chopper to conduct several tests and one-on-one interviews with crew members over the course of four days. Chopper was not a professional psychiatrist. Neither Doctor Hiluluk nor Doctorin. Yes, he studied from the books. He had read a lot of books, but that's not how psychology worked. Although the Doctorin was not a psychiatrist, there had been a few cases of Ptsd. So he had little experience, but most of his crew members were not cooperative. At least there was a lot they didn't want to tell. So Chopper was very stressed because he didn't know how to help his crew, his pack.
“You okay Doctor-san?”
“Robin…”
“You can tell me.”
“But patient-doctor confidentiality…”
“Chopper, you are our pup. You shouldn't bear our scars alone.”
“Robin, I don't know how to help.”
"Why don't you start by telling me what you found first?"
“I learned too much and too little. Some are not cooperative at all.”
“I think I am one of them.”
"Yes."
“Sorry Chopper, but I think you know enough already.”
“But Robin I remember. When you first joined. You mentioned something worrying…”
“I had suicidal tendencies right?”
“Yeah… And with Enies Lobby…”
“Chopper. I know. You're worried about me, but you're helping me the most by being here. As my pack. Believe me, I'm getting better. Slowly but well, and if I get bad again, I will come to you.”
"Promise?"
"Promise. Now the others?"
"Still…"
“Well, let me say this. Chopper we have a very young pack here. Except for Franky and me. As I realize we need one or two parental figures. Like pack mom and dad. I wanna be the pack mom.”
“Oh…”
“I wanna help you. And you have my word. No one will know about our collaboration.”
“If you say so.”
“So who else is not cooperating.”
“Zoro skips a lot of things. So for half an hour, I heard that he promised a friend that is the reason he is here now, and that's all I could learn. He said he grew up in a dojo, but he didn't mention his mother or father. He avoided all questions but talked about how much he owed his sensei. I understand Zoro lost both parents but I'm not sure. Or he grew up in a dojo for a different reason. I do not know. And one more thing about him caught my attention.”
"What?"
“When he handed me the tests, he had a lot of empty questions. When asked why he said he was never good at reading. He also said that he learned to read later than his peers.”
"Well?"
“So Zoro can be dyslexic which explains why he gets lost so easily.”
“Dyslexia? That can explain so many things.”
“Still, I would like a second opinion on Zoro before I do anything. From an expert. I hope we find it on Fishman island. There's another one I want like this."
"Who?"
“Luffy probably has ADHD but I am not a psychiatrist. Yes, I studied but…”
"I understand. We're going to have to look into these things on Fishman Island, too."
"Yes."
“Any other opinions on Luffy?”
“Luffy was very cooperative Robin. I learned a lot about him.”
“Hm… I would like to know my captain.”
“First of all, until Luffy was 7 years old, he grew up with his grandfather's frequent visits, a woman named Makino, whom he saw as a possible mother figure, and the village mayor. He met Red Hair Shanks at the age of 6 and although he did not go into full details, Shanks made a great sacrifice and saved Luffy's life and left him his straw hat, but he had no friends until the age of 7. Luffy doesn't like being alone at all and this is probably his biggest fear. Phobia. So much so that Ace could befriend him- Ah, do you know Ace?"
“Fire-Fist Ace? Luffy mentioned him as his brother.”
“Yes, Ace is Luffy's brother. Anyway, Luffy risked a lot to be friends with him. In a way, he was self-sacrificing and he's been through a terrible event.”
“A terrible event?”
“Luffy learned he was an omega age of 7”
“How is so?”
“…Luffy has another older brother, Sabo. Sabo and Ace were raising money to become pirates before Luffy. Luffy learned this by mistake and bad pirates learned that he learned. That's why they caught Luffy and tortured him for hours. Luffy's body could not stand the stress, pain, and fear he experienced after a certain point and took himself under protection. You know heats can be healing for Omegas. That's what happened this time. Luffy went into early heat to recover. Of course, the pirates who realized this to Luffy… to Luffy… Fortunately, Ace and Sabo stopped them before they could go further. Ace defeated the man in anger. Meanwhile, Sabo took Luffy to the forest. When Ace came, they went to the house of the mountain bandits they were staying with and explained the situation. Dadan, the mother figure of the brothers, has prepared a nest for Luffy. Luffy doesn't remember what happened next, but it's not hard to guess."
“Oh, my poor pup.”
“Yeah… That's why he didn't want to talk about the last event.”
“It reminded him of bad memories.”
"Yes. Luffy didn't have a normal childhood in general, but the loss of Sabo a few months later is one of the things that affected him the most."
“Oh…”
“Yeah…”
“The others?”
“Ah… Sanji doesn't specifically talk about his life before he met his father figure, Zeff. But he said most of his family weren't good. I can't be sure of course, but I suspect child abuse. So much so that he is most likely suffering from PTSD. That panic attack was probably because of that but again not sure. And he grew up without a permanent child around him. He's probably having trouble with friends and relationships. Smoking addiction already… He also got a high score on the anxiety test so I would get a second opinion about treatment again. Sanji has so many but he tells me so little so I don't know how to help. ”
“Hmm… is there a situation in a hurry?”
“After that panic attack I would like to start his treatment for his anxiety as soon as possible but he is very insistent that it is not a problem. He also claims that it was a one-off attack that he hadn't had in four years."
"It wouldn't be right to push him either, would it, Chopper?"
“Unfortunately… You can't help someone who doesn't want help… But… I'm a doctor…”
“I know Chopper but... What about Nami?”
“She has serious trust issues. And she has a lot of problems with her own identity. She has very wrong images of sub-gender because of the environment she grew up in. She is aware of this herself, she is trying to change. Nami probably handles better with us. So nothing too worrying right now.”
“I see. Usopp?”
“Ah… Self-worth issue… Anxiety… Losing his mum… So much… He started lying due to his mother’s illness. He wanted to make her happy by lying about his father coming back. Then he became a liar due to PTSD. ”
“Chopper, you are not alone. We will deal with it together. We won't let anyone go too far. We will collect them together when they break down okay?”
“Okay, Robin. Thanks.”
“You're welcome. Franky?”
“Oh, he is probably in the best condition. He had survivor's guilt over his master's death but with everything, he probably got over it. So yeah he is better.”
“So what we ultimately have to deal with is:”
“Getting a second opinion and possible treatment for Luffy’s ADHD, Zoro’s dyslexia, and Anxiety of Sanji and Usopp.”
“In the Fishman Island if it is possible?”
“Yes.”
“Then we can finally have a nest right?”
“Yes.”
“Then let's go and tell the others.”
