no actually, ronance IS real, because every choice made in film is deliberate on some level and they made robin mirror nancy exactly and god just general Lesbian behaviors between the two

nancy looks at steve on the boat, but who’s looking at her? robin

nancy jumps after steve into the lake, but who jumps in after her? robin

nancy is quietly annoyed at robin at first, but then they’re literally always paired up. ronance at the library, visiting victor creel, walking ahead of steve and eddie in the upside down.

and i say this completely affectionately but when steve and nancy are both in the room, robin isn’t giving steve a second glance
