Finquiver and Heavyfoot had been alive and well when Robincall was taken by twolegs as a young warrior. But when he returned after a years long journey back to his clan, both of his parents had long since joined Starclan. This was something he had feared, but he counted his surviving siblings with great joy. After a tearful reunion with them, he turned his attention to Skybeak.
Although he was overwhelmed with the relief that his clan brought him, he had decided that he must correct his mistake in not expressing his feelings to Skybeak while he'd had the chance. No sooner had he successfully pulled the deputy aside did he ask him to become his mate, and Skybeak's surprised but gentle rejection did not surprise him. Finally, he could put all of his regrets to bed and begin a new chapter in his life.
However, he couldn't resist one more proposal after Skybeak became Skystar. The new leader was too impressive for him to resist. After this second rejection, he turned his attention to Rustfalcon and proposed to him instead, which Rustfalcon accepted! They didn't know each other very well, but Robincall had picked up on Rustfalcon's interest in him and decided that he'd rather act sooner than later. Although he couldn't be sure why the other tom had accepted so quickly, he wasn't exactly in the mood to question his decision.
Despite the serendipitous nature of their relationship, Robincall became very attached to Rustfalcon. He appreciated having a someone to rely on after years of traveling in uncertain conditions. Waking up together, eating meals together, and falling asleep together were all predictable and comforting parts of their daily life.
When Rustfalcon suddenly succumbed to greencough, Robincall's grief struck him more abruptly than he could have expected. Suddenly the moons he spent alongside Rustfalcon, as short as they may have been, seemed like they'd all been a dream. Here, again, was loss and hardship and loneliness.
It didn't take Robincall very long at all to make another proposal to Skystar. The rejections had begun to feel almost comforting in their familiarity. He continued to dwell on his unreciprocated feelings all the way until Skystar's death, after which there seemed to be nowhere else to go. Robincall struggled to feel connected to any cat, and often wondered why he'd spent so much effort to return to the clan. He became reckless and absentminded, wandering beyond the borders of Marineclan's territory and earning concerned reprimands every time he was found by a patrol.
Perhaps as part of this recklessness, Robincall let down his guard around the tide pools one day. He felt a sharp stinging in his paw, and succumbed to a strong poison not long after. When he woke up in Starclan, he was greeted by Finquiver and Heavyfoot first. They told him how much they'd missed him, and Robincall felt something stir in the numbness of his chest. By the time his siblings had gathered around him, tears began to prick at the corners of his eyes. And when Rustfalcon nuzzled against him, they flowed freely down his cheeks. Finally he had found the welcome he'd yearned for during all those years of wandering.
