she rly tried to defend herself by saying she partnered w autism speaks??? a hate group?? that doesn’t listen to autistic people?? that compared autism to cancer?? that pushes traumatising therapy and advocates for a cure??? and she ‘researched’ for THREE years??? are you fucking kidding me???

and one of her excuses is that she had 13 neurodivergent ppl and 3 trans ppls ‘not as fucking prostitutes or drug addicts but s as doctors, nurses and singers’. BARE! MINIMUM!

and if you can find 13 neurodivergent people to be in it you couldn’t fine one to play the main character? if you want to make a movie that supports and brings attention to autistic people, the LEAST you could do support an autistic actor.

‘it felt more compassionate to use maddie’ it felt more compassionate to have a neurotypical girl make autism a costume??

‘i worked closely with two neuroatypical friends’ so when HUNDREDS of people tell you it’s not okay, it’s offensive, insulting, and disrespectful, you rly wanna say ‘my friends said it’s okay!’

‘please watch it before you judge it’ we do not want to watch a neurotypical person pretend to be autistic for two hours. the TRAILER can be over stimulating for many people.

and the amount of neurotypical ppl trying to tell sia that it’s okay?? it is NOT their place to decide whether it harms people or not.

this could maybe make no sense at all but i feel so at peace now more than i have in a while  i think something about yelling w my friends in a gc about the clip dropping soon and needing translations, something about waiting for eline to post the translations and then reading them as fast as i can to get back to my friends, something about grinning and laughing with the guys and crying with jana, something about all the curiosity and all the unknown  it just feels like everything is back to normal

guys honestly im pissed at maddie too. she is 18 years old. she is a whole person. she knows what she’s doing. obviously we don’t know what’s going like if she’s being forced to do it but i rly feel like she could have said no.

you know what bothers me ab white people (specifically men) is that when youre talking to them ab stuff that happens theyre all like ‘not all men’ ‘not all white ppl’ ‘not all cops’ etc but then when they say st and you tell them its a harmful generalization theyre like ‘well statistically speaking...’ statistically speaking youre a bitch jacob shut the fuck up
