—Robison Wells, Feedback
Why are you out here?" Arthur asked, trying to change the subject. "That beast, for one thing," Pellinore said, letting go of Jennifer's hands and picking up the can opener. He sighed. "I'm just trying to do some good." "What do you mean?" Pellinore looked at Jennifer while he turned the crank. "He doesn't know what doing good is." "He does," she said with a smile. "He's just easily confused.

Being really into both a book with no movie and video editing sucks. I have the greatest idea for an edit of the Maxfield escape but the “video” is just all in my head and on page. I’m still holding out hope for a Variant movie.

For any humans who want to read a sci-fi novel that has a PoC leads "Dark Energy" by Robinson Wells is a good novel. I read it myself and it does a good job of creating a well developed heroine (Who is Navajo!) and even has some Native America cultural references and dialogues in the Navajo's traditional language! Also her father in the novel has a STEM job too as an added bonus!
I was totally concerned and intrigued by your setup of “for any humans” until I read the summary, lol. In any case, this sounds pretty cool (and I welcome any space aliens among us to read the book as well if they so wish). Thanks for the rec!

We are not alone. They are here. And there’s no going back. Perfect for fans of The Fifth Wave and the I Am Number Four series, Dark Energy is a thrilling stand-alone science fiction adventure from Robison Wells, critically acclaimed author of Variant and Blackout.
Five days ago, a massive UFO crashed in the Midwest. Since then, nothing—or no one—has come out.
If it were up to Alice, she’d be watching the fallout on the news. But her dad is director of special projects at NASA, so she’s been forced to enroll in a boarding school not far from the crash site. Alice is right in the middle of the action, but even she isn’t sure what to expect when the aliens finally emerge. Only one thing is clear: everything has changed.
