BARNEY FALLING IN LOVE WITH ROBIN IS THE CUTEST THING

So we've been preparing and building expectations about the Swarkles wedding for about a year and a half, at least. Well, I started this list of all the things I'd like to see pre-wedding, wedding, and reception. Please add anything else to the list so that I can cry about all the wonderful ideas. The () will be my reason for wanting it.

-Ted gives Robin the locket. (To Robin, the locket meant that the universe wanted her to marry Barney and that everything was going to be okay. It’s important that she gets it because to her, THAT’S the confirmation. Yes, she loves Barney, but everyone needs a sign. If Ted is the one that gives it to her, I have no doubts that all the hesitation she felt in the beginning of Farhampton will disappear. Sidenote: Ted giving it to her is real confirmation that he’s letting her go. He knows what it means to her. It’s not a sign that THEY need to get back together at all.)

-Robin goes for a walk and The Mother gives her the last piece of advice/confirmation. (Yes, I just said the locket would be the confirmation, but I really want this to be the way that Robin meets The Mother. She encouraged Barney to propose and encourages Robin to marry him. She would be like 90% of the reason that they realize WHY they’re need to get married. Plusssss, I want Robin to be like, “Oh dude, you’re such a Ted. You’d be perfect for each other. I’ll introduce you.” That would mean that Robin is the one who gets them together, just like she said she would in episode 2. Talk about continuity.)

-Robin’s dad tells her that he’s proud of her while walking her up the aisle. (I know that he agreed to show up because of his talk with Barney, but I really want her to get her “I’m proud of you.” She doesn’t need it, but she deserves it.)

-Barney’s face when she walks down the aisle. (Neil acts more with his facial expressions then most people do with their whole body.)

-Their vows. (Especially Robin’s. We already know that Barney’s are going to make us cry for the next 300 years. I’m excited for Robin’s because she HASN’T made a big speech and I know it’ll probably be more emotional because of it. Once again, Neil’s face will make it better and if there’s tears, that’ll be enough for me to curl up and cry.)

-Barney and Robin not being able to stop kissing and Sam having to tell them to Wait for it. (After he sees her. After his vows. After her vows.)

-Instead of “I Do’s” , I want “Challenge Accepted”. (Barney Stinson NEVER turns down a challenge and if that challenge is to live for better/for worse, in sickness/health for as long as they both shall live, then you better believe he’ll accept the challenge FOREVER. Also, though I’m pretty sure Robin hasn’t uttered the phrase, she doesn’t turn down a challenge either.)

-“I now present to you for the first time, Mr and Mrs Barney Stinson.” (I know Marshall and Lily don’t share a last name, and Robin is independent but I realllllllly want her to take his name. Or Scherbatsky-Stinson. It’ll show a commitment that nobody believes they have for each other. Plus, Scherbatsky is long and hard to spell.)

-ROBIN SPARKLES AT THE RECEPTION. (There’s hints about it and I need it. Robin Sparkles 5, ya’ll. If The Mother comments on it, OR sings it, I might die.)

-The most legendary of first dances. (I’m not sure if I want Groove is in the Heart again cause that’d be a great parallel, but just a really amazing dance.)

-TEDDY’S TOAST. (He’s gonna cry. I’m gonna cry. We’re all gonna cry.)

-Lily to have a speech. (Barney has confided in her a lot and I mean she’s probably the biggest shipper.)

-The exchange of money between Lily and Marshall about their ongoing bet.

-A slow dance with an aerial view of all 3 couples.

-Patrice to get some recognition and love. (She played a huge part and I want Robin to thank her)

-Barney and Robin cutting the cake. (There will probably be some great comments about it. Plus, them covered in icing…perf)

-The sendoff to the honeymoon. (A moment of just the 5 of them together. We haven’t gotten enough of that this season.)

It’s a lot of stuff that I want and I’m sure that there won’t be 83% of it. However, I’m so confident in the actors and writers that I know it’ll be perfect anyway, but this is the stuff that I’ve just thought of in a year and a half. PLEASE ADD STUFF OR MESSAGE ME ABOUT STUFF YOU WANT ‘CAUSE I’VE CAUGHT FEELINGS BAD.
