*There was some clattering. Robo-Crow poked his head in with a big smile. He practically hadn’t dropped it since Hermes came back home.*

*The rest of his body came around the corner and he had the bag in his hands.*

Jeremiah gasped, seeing the broken machine on the floor.

Jeremiah knelt down next to the automaton, looking rather haunted. He pulled Robo-Crow close to him.
*The machine was limp... This time there were no tricks... no secret plan to be revealed... His eyes were unfocused and blank. He no longer hummed with magnetic life.*
*A few agonal pulses of electricity caused him to twitch and convulse. On one such occasion, his voice box was triggered, and he played back another recording of his creator's experiments, as he had for Crane.*
"T-Test number 284... Death. This is a large and encompassing topic, my machine... But, Dr. Crane does not fear death. No. For many reasons, some good, and some bad, he does not."
*The recording fizzled out into static.*

*He scratched at his arm to draw blood and see the cells bubble up to the surface.*
“Ow…”
*Pain was new. But so was the sight of something alive coming out of him. Not oil or hydraulics. Blood.*

*The police spotlight was beamed towards the man on the belltower. He squinted and held his hand up to his face to block out the light.*
"Is that Commissioner Gordon down there? My, I'm flattered! Thought you would have bigger fish to fry.-"
"Release the hostages and we can negotiate what you want!"
"I wasn't fucking done speaking, Gordon. Hostages? Oh, no. These are prey of Phobos. They will endure their trial or be sacrificed in the name of redemption."

*The man could barely get his words out before a bullet rang out... and struck the criminal in the head. The resounding echo left the area silent, as the beast crumbled off his horse...*
*From under his coat numerous black doves flew out, automatons of course.*

"Frightened, Commissioner? YOU SHOULD BE!"
*The voice seemingly called out from the grave... For it was not the man who died up there.*
"Double, double, toil and trouble..." The southern voice rattled as the deceased man raised from the dead.
*Robo-Crow cackled as Kilroy leapt from the top of the belltower, and saddled on his horse, promptly rearing it.*
"You cannot kill a god!"
*The Red Horse, Dante, shot tendrils of flames from nostrils with an ear-piercing screech... an EMP blast... At the same time the spotlight was turned off, he engaged his next trick. The black doves had flown to various points atop the University buildings. From out of sight, he engaged his plasmic weapons, and veins of lightning struck the birds catching fire to the campus.*
"AND GOD HAVE MERCY ON THEIR SOULS!"
*Robo-Crow scurried off, with his creator following. They slashed through melting and burning victims. Their screams were a resounding orchestral swell of his pantheon encouraging the carnage to continue burning on.*
"The deed is done, Dr. Crane. Have... Have mercy on my soul."
*He snapped the reins of Dante and he rode off into the darkness. Hoping to disappear without a trace.*
