This photo does not capture how chemically orange that orange truly is. It’s glaring.
Warning: This book turns into a robot. The cover tells you so. Adam Rubin has created one of the most clever interactive books I have ever seen. As the cast of characters slowly turn into robots using the secret Robo-Sauce, a nuclear orange substance made up of things such as kookamonga flakes and a sprig of sparkenfarfle, the main character is supposed to slowly figure out that taking over the world as a robot isn’t very fun for everyone else. Handed the antidote to being a robot so he can regain his family and friends… he disintegrates it and turns the entire world, including the book, into a robot.
I won’t lie to you. The instructions for turning the book into a robot make sense once you figure out what you’re trying to do, but until you realize exactly how far this goes, it’s a little baffling. The instructions are perfect. We are not. But once you figure it out, you have a shiny, new Robo-Book by Adroid Rubot, illustrated by Salmatron 5000. Some beeping and booping and robot domination later, we find the boy’s family all pretending to be robots together. I’m pretty sure this is the book to use if you have a group that think they’ve heard everything. If you have an abundance of boxes or tin foil, you’ve just made some kids’ days.
