individual states have different (endlessly broken) laws about fireworks. when i lived in NC, anything stronger than like, sparklers was totally banned, but SC had absolutely no regulations, so people would take a weekend, cross the border, and come back with like, hundreds of dollars worth of this noisy bullshit, it's out of control
