I'm hoping you can help me. I'm a feminist who believes in anti-gg and is anti-hate/bullying. However, my gf is a strong defender of gg. The main thing that concerns me are the stories she's told me about how pro-gg supporters have not only been harassed online, but one man was doxxed and sent a knife to his house. Another pro-gg women's entire family was doxxed and she was sent a picture of herself covered in semen by anti-gg. These stories make me question my beliefs. Do you have any advice?
The thing about those stories is that they fall apart under the lightest scrutiny.

So last night, I was going through my asks, and this came up. I began to reply, and in the course of looking for links to cite, realized that, even though I’m inclined to distrust anything that the GeeGee mob and its sockpuppet army says, I was wrong that none of them on the pro- side have been harassed.
I can’t say definitively if it’s true, but there’s a lot of evidence to support the fact that some people who support that whole thing have been subjected to the exact same thing those people have done to my friends and people I care about.
So I hit delete and went on with my night.
Only it turns out that I hadn’t hit delete. I’d put the beginning of my response into my queue by mistake, and it posted while I was getting onto my airplane this morning.
I was alerted to this by the mob of GastroGarners who flooded me on Twitter with their usual tenacity and other associated bullshit that’s caused me to mute or block as many of them as I can, so Twitter doesn’t feel like a fifth grade classroom with no teacher.
So I want to be clear: I believe that was wrong in my initial assertion, and whoever the victim, SWATting and doxing are never acceptable. Anyone who does that sort of thing, regardless of what “side” they identify with, is a piece of shit and should be sent into that thing General Zod was in before Superman II.
That response was posted in error, and rather than delete it, I’m going to post this, and append this text to my original response. I’m sure the GrappleGloamers will break out their photoshop and red arrows and whatever to somehow prove that they “won” or something similar. I don’t really care about that, because the larger point stands: threats, harassment, and behavior that can lead to real life violence is never okay.
