Got Eval? We Do!
One of the most overlooked and valuable aspects of Toastmasters by those who may not be overly familiar with the program is the opportunity to hear not only a well crafted speech, but to understand what made it good, and what could also be improved.
This critique is commonly known as an evaluation. The idea is not to re-hash the content of a given speech, but to look at the technical aspects of the presentation and offer useful advice to the speaker, and those who are interested in learning better ways to communicate.
In the two videos above, we present Rochester Chamber Toastmaster Bethany Krom, was making a pitch for speakers to an upcoming TEDx event. She is ably evaluated by club member Rick Lien.
