I just finished watching the second season of bridgerton. To be brief I will say that I loved every second of this series and it is definitely better than the first season.
I was totally amazed and absolutely in love with Kathony, not only as a couple, but the characters are wonderful on their own. I loved seeing the parallels between them: wanting to fulfill their responsibilities to their family. The writers did a great job crafting a slow burn between them and that is what we saw: a beautiful enemies to lovers story. The longing, the drama, the heartache... it's all planted in these 8 episodes. And, yes I feel we needed one more episode to see more happy moments between them but it is what it is I guess. Anyway Simone and Jonathan were brilliant, the chemistry between them was more than excellent, almost perfect I would say. Seeing Anthony unable to contain his feelings is something I never thought I'd see. Bravo Johnny and Simone!
I should do a full review and I promise to do so, but right now I can only think of what I enjoyed the most. For example, the fight between Penelope and Eloise was excellent, it was something that was bound to happen sooner or later. And I must say that I liked Penelope a lot more in this season: she finally has opinions and shares them with other people (besides Eloise), we see a much more confident Penelope and I love it! I can't say the same for Eloise, a character I like in general but sometimes, and I hate to say this, she irritates me a bit. I think her arc was a bit "poor", I would have love seeing her getting interested in the feminist movement, instead of throwing her in with Theo, I think that was too fast... considering that she is refused to get married and settle down "as it should be". Although maybe, that was necessary to see her contradictions, I don't know.... I have to think better about this haha.
Colin was very cruel to Penelope at the end of the season. I screamed when he took her hand and I thought: finally!!! but no, she's like a sister to him.... for now. Benedict won my heart completely, he's really adorable and I loved that he has more participation in this season; let's hope his story will take place soon!!!.Oh I have a lot of things to say about Queen Portia Featherington,( Polly Walker I love you too much); Lady Danbury, Violet and the Queen... but I'll keep them for the longer review, I promise!
