Why Working Out With a Partner Can Lead to Success

Having a workout partner can make all the difference between success and failure. There’s nothing better than being able to motivate someone, and vice versa. When you workout with a partner, you’re more apt to try something new and get out of your fitness comfort zone.
Time Goes By Faster: When you workout alone, it’s easy and common to watch the clock. It puts a slump in your workout because your focus shifts from your original goals to how much time has passed. When you’re able to talk with a partner and motivate one another, time becomes irrelevant. You’ll look forward to your workout date, not dread it.
You’ll Never Skip a Workout: When you answer to no one but yourself, it can become easy to cancel a workout, especially after a busy day. However, one missed workout can lead to three, and before you know it, it’s been a couple weeks. If you start to make a date with a friend or family member, you’ll feel motivated and also more accountable to not break the date. If your partner is counting on you to be there, you’ll be less likely to cancel.
Celebrate: You and your partner can set goals for yourselves and celebrate once you’ve accomplished them. If you had your heart set on running 5 miles, and your partner was there to encourage you, that would motivate you both. You can feed off of one another’s accomplishments and learn to set goals that you both can accomplish together.
