another quick sketch because i love him so much because
If I had a nickel for every time I watched a kids movie where an anthropomorphic young adult who didn’t follow what his dad wanted for him and was very musically gifted had good chemistry with a talented feline, I’d have two nickels
Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice
Rock dog | Bodi and Angus
Angus Scattergood (and Bodi!) canonically says the F word in Rock Dog and that's so interesting to me. They could have had Angus soft swear like (Captain Haddock in Tintin). But no, they have Angus swear and just bleep it out with a car that drives past the camera.
Bodi: "Are you Angus Scattergood?" Angus: "No, I'm his [beep]-ing gardener!" Bodi: "Oh my gosh! I'm actually meeting Angus Scattergood's [beep]-ing gardener!"
Obviously, because of Standards & Practices guidelines for family films, we don't hear it, but we know they said it. This was A Choice on the part of the filmmakers.
Because Angus would swear. He's a burnt-out rockstar. He's tired. He's frustrated that he's lost his muse. He needs to write a new song within a few days and is struggling.
(He also manages to get out a "bloody!" during the window scene. Like Wax Sherlock in Gravity Falls. It's so funny to me that so long at it's a North American production, saying bloody is okay, even when the character is British and is definitely using it as a swear word. S&P guidelines are so weird sometimes.)
Angus: "Shut up that bloody racket!"
