#219 Magcargo

“The snail-like creature you see before you isn’t the Pokemon, but rather the host of a Magcargo, a parasitic worm that loves to dance and take over snails’ brains.” Even though this sprite is seemingly minimalist, I’m proud of the amount of work put into this and the degree of creative freedom the approach provided. I definitely had fun with it. The following additional sprites from B2W2 were used: Caterpie, Weedle, Pinsir, Samurott. and Vileplume. The move animations for Psychic from both BW and B2W2 were used as well.

It's really hard to put into words why I love this specific mask or even what makes it different from later iterations but like... I mean look at this dude! I feel his 82' mask makes him look younger while the beta mask with the more prominent cheeks and brows makes him look more like an older, washed up comedian who's really scraping the bottom of the barrel at a pizza arcade, but still somehow super smug about it
