honestly I see your “Rocky doesn’t like Simon at first” and I raise you: Rocky adores Simon at first sight, it’s ADRIAN who takes a while to warm up to Simon.

To Adrian, Grace is basically family, and as such, they’re very distrustful of Simon since they’re afraid his less than stable nature might make him hurt Rocky or Grace. Especially after hearing about/seeing (depending on if you think Simon got there before or after arriving on Erid) how Simon attacked Grace upon first meeting. I think it probably takes them a while to trust Simon and realize he’s not going to hurt anyone, especially since he’s working very hard on not being The Butcher. Bonus if they bond over engineering/botany stuff while Adrian works on the dome.
