I knew something was in the air, in the water, when I saw Jackie Wong had created a new sort of document format for all these breakups.

I feel like there’s a lot of random theories and criticism flying around about Zhenya’s boot problems at Nationals. Here’s two tweets from Ashley Wagner and one from Jackie Wong that give some insight into elite skaters and their boots. Not saying that they’re speaking for Zhenya or all skaters, though.

Jackie Wong - willful blindness in reporting underrotations
Jackie Wong noted Alina Zagitova’s obvious URs at the GPF in Vancouver in real time. He alludes to the technical panel being lenient.
Jackie is clearly able to spot and see URs in real time.
So why did he call all of Alina’s practices fully rotated?
This is clearly NOT the case:
I tweeted these GIFs under Jackie’s post with no response, nor any indication that she may have had underrotation issues in later practices.
Don’t be too cowardly to call it out when it happens in real time and pretend to be a valid critic later ... when everyone can see the truth with their own eyes.
This doesn’t help Alina improve her technique, validates poor judging, and most importantly, gives MISINFORMATION to fans.
