losing my goddamn MIND at this rockpapershotgun short article lads
Bugsnax is a colourful 3D puzzle adventure - but it also has great queer representation. We spoke to the developers to find out more.
If you havent seen this article yet, I highly recommend it! As someone who grew up without much positive queer representation around me, I really appreciate the dev’s approach to it. Showing rather than pulling you aside and telling you that characters are queer, and just letting them shine as characters rather than their identify being all of what they are is what I love seeing.
If you haven't heard of Alt.Ctrl.GDC, oh my gosh, are you in for a treat. Not the treat of actually going, because this happened two weeks ago in San Francisco.
This was terrific fun. I'm sharing this not only because I had such a good time, but also because Matt Cox is one of the most lovely and wholesome gentlemen writing about games and it's always a pleasure to see him.
The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth's long awaited online co-op update arrives in two weeks, and there's a huge discount on Steam right now

Katana Zero developer Askiisoft has released ten minutes of gameplay footage of the game's free DLC expansion.

Paul Dean explores the surface joys of Stardew Valley and reflects on life, labour and love
“Pelican Town is incredibly twee. In the spring I arrive, it’s a village of picket fences, manicured gardens and swaying blooms of daisies or pansies or blue bonnets or whatnot. Its fat houses and shining pathways speak of comfort and calm, but I gradually come to discover that there are signs of profound sickness within. It’s not just that Pam lives in a trailer amongst all this, or sits alone at the bar every night, it’s that it all goes completely unacknowledged. On multiple occasions over the spring I alone try to engage with her, only for the game to give me the briefest, grimmest result.
‘Pam is unresponsive.'”
I wrote something very special and very reflective about a video game. I’ve never written anything quite like this before and I’ve waited anxiously for some time to see this published.
This is what I think more writing about and responses to video games should be like. If you like this, please share it and talk about it and show it to other people. I do most of the work that I do in the hope it will matter to people, because a lot of it really does matter to me, so much, and that has never been more true than here.
Excavating interesting websites from the joyful morass that is Neocities.
Go read this relatively brief RPS article, the first in a series* of columns on random Neocities pages.
* I very much doubt even my absolutely colossal (sic) Tumblr follower count would sway it either way nor do I have reason to believe the existence of any future entries is swing-able (?). It's just the modern internet innit and this is/would be extremely my isht.
