There's a new doggo in House Calamity. Her name is Roxy. She is a big, loveable, 1yr 9mo old German Shepherd (mix supposedly but I don't see it). She's absolutely amazing and well behaved and mostly trained.

Unfortunately, her being here is a result of Miss Mocha, my constant shadow of the last 10 years crossing the bridge. She was blind, deaf, and in pain, and it was time. Her, and our old grumpy black cat crosses together on Wednesday morning. Mocha was 13 and Buzz was 18.

We adopted Roxy from the local shelter that evening. Our house just isn't home without a dog. It's become a tradition to rescue a homeless doggo when we lose one. Mocha came after we lost Daisy. Brody came after Shadow, though sadly for all of us he was broken in a way that made him dangerous, and we lost him too. And so Roxy comes after Mocha. Mocha used her to say Hello, found a half eaten bag of hot dog buns on the floor yesterday. Shadow probably helped get them off the counter.
