I am very very saddened by Vil’s birthday card this year, I think more masculine styles could work easily with him but I just think this looks like some bullshit they’d draw Trey in not Vil. It doesn’t suit him at all. On the other hand I actually really love how Sebek’s outfit looks 😭😭😭

I actually feel ill over this. I haven’t mentioned sldm much on this blog in the past few months but it’s really special to me. It’s still my favorite visual novel and it’s on my top three games. Life can be so cruel but then I think of my girlfriend and feel my heart become warm. She isn’t just my girlfriend or the girl I hope to marry soon. She’s also my best friend. A creative woman. A kind woman who cares for all animals no matter how they look. A smart woman who talks about the most complex science and math concepts like they’re nothing. Genuinely the funniest woman I know as well. I love my girlfriend but I love her so much more than one loves their romantic partner. She is nestled deep within my soul and I’m eternally grateful that she’s in my life :)

INTERESTS
I am in a few fandoms, my most prominent ones being Slow Damage and Twisted Wonderland but they are not the only games that I like! I am a big fan of Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Last Window: The Secret of Cape West. I also love Tomodachi Life, Fire Emblem, IB, Fear and Hunger, Yume Nikki, No I’m Not a Human, The Legend of Zelda, OFF, OFF-PEAK, Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3, and Final Fantasy 7!
While I don’t play as many games as I want to, I do read a lot. It would take up this entire post if I said every book I’ve ever read so I’ll just share some of my personal favorites. I also plan to show the novels I’m currently reading on this post, I will be updating them frequently! My favorite books are Wuthering Heights, My Heart is a Chainsaw, Heaven Officials Blessing, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, The Color Purple, Tipping the Velvet, Buffalo Hunter Hunter, Mask of the Deer Woman, Invisible Man (by Ralph Ellison), Things Fall Apart, Frankenstein, and The Vegetarian.
Currently reading: The Husky and his white cat Shizun vol 2.
Some of my favorite movies are Perfect Blue, Sinners, But I’m a Cheerleader, EEAAO, US, Tokyo Godfathers, Halloween, Black Christmas, Blue Velvet, Belladonna of Sadness, and Princess Mononoke.
Recently I have made it a priority to read and watch more things by female authors and directors, I also want to prioritize art made by queer women and bipoc women. I have mainly been reading yuri when it comes to manga but I am even more excited to continue this journey with film and novels! If you have any recommendations I’d love to hear it! Maxine Anderson Verse - An original story that I’m writing with my partner. Maxine Anderson is a detective that works for The Los Angeles Angels, a private investigator firm that takes on cases both big and small. After taking a nearly six month break from her job, Max is sent to The Scarlet Bear, a rundown hotel tucked away in the mountains of Big Bear, California. Due to a sudden change in the weather, Max finds herself stuck at the hotel she was only supposed to spend one night at. Nearly everyone at this hotel has a secret, from the woman who runs it to that strange blonde that stares at Max like a hungry dog. Unable to ignore her natural impulse to investigate, Maxine, along with her work partner, Lane, begin to unravel the sordid history of those staying at The Scarlet Bear and the dark history of the hotel itself.
I have a huge love for noir literature and I am so excited to work on this one. We plan to have it be a trilogy and I’m actually writing it already! The Horror Novel - An original story that I’m writing by myself. It’s December 13th, 2019. Another Friday the 13th. All Cel Azarian wants to do is clock into work, clock out, and spend the rest of her day curled up in bed watching horror movies. Or maybe a walk in the mountains while listening to the soundtrack from Silent Hill 2 would be a better way to celebrate this special day. But when she forgets her phone on campus, she stumbles upon a bloodbath of teachers and quickly becomes trapped inside with a slasher. It’s kill or be killed, but Cel is determined to flee without staining her hands with blood. The question is, will the slasher stalking these halls let her?
I have always had a big love for slashers, I watched my first horror movies at 11, it was Friday the 13th. From that moment onward I became obsessed. I gave my computer so many viruses trying to illegally stream horror movies but I didn’t care. I watched Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Perfect Blue (I think it technically counts as a slasher), Black Christmas, Candyman, and any other horror movie I could get my paws on. I knew that I would want to write a horror novel eventually, but I never had any ideas for the longest time. I believe that you shouldn’t force a story. If no ideas are coming to you then just let it rest. But working as a substitute teacher with OCD has been rough, I am constantly paranoid of something bad happening to myself or my loved ones. It’s honestly worse when you have to take care of little kids. Any loud stomping in the hallways isn’t two kids rushing to class after missing line up, it could be someone with a gun. I don’t think it helps that guns are easy to get in America.
My thoughts can become very overwhelming and while I am seeing a therapist to help with my OCD, I’m still new to all of the techniques and part of me is still accepting that I even have OCD. I was told that getting the thoughts out of my head after work could help me, but I didn’t know what my therapist meant. A bubble bath? Working out? Drinking so much liquor that I couldn’t even think? But one day, while I was at work, it clicked. I could write out my fears. Just listing them wouldn’t be productive, but maybe a novel would be? I’ve been workshopping this story for six months and I’m really excited to show it off here! I also do not have a proper title for it yet, so once I do I will be sure to update that.

Dear Nightingale - An original story that I’m writing by myself. The Nightingale family has suffered many hardships, the only two remaining members of the family are the daughters of Diran and Wyrin Nightingale. Varian and Violet Nightingale. For a time, Violet Nightingale was thought to have been gone as well. It was only four years ago that she returned to her families manor with a new maid by her side. Violet spends most of her time sampling tea, politely rejecting marriage and courting requests sent from the Queen’s nephew, and reading with her maid, Casimir, right by her side. But after a strange encounter with a masked woman at one of the Queen’s balls, Violet’s whole world begins to fall apart. As she descends to madness, it is up to Casimir to keep the woman she loves from losing herself completely.
Dear Nightingale is my longest and most complicated writing project. I actually wrote the first two volumes, over 100K for each, before scrapping them entirely. Like I said above, you shouldn’t force a story to come to you. But I ignored my own advice when it came to Dear Nightingale and ruined my poor precious novel. It’s gone through multiple drafts and has had so many changes done to it. Ironically, Violet and the masked woman have been two of the only things I’ve kept from that original draft. I’ve worked on Dear Nightingale for over a year and learned a lot about writing thanks to my failure with it. But I’m finally at a place where I am not only satisfied with the plot but I’m eager for it. Dear Nightingale is my love letter to Victorian Literature, something I spent most of my undergraduate degree studying. It’s also my love letter to horror gl and automatons, it’s been the hardest story to write and the one I’m most excited for. I am so excited to share more of DN with everyone…

All good things must come to an end, but when they do, you shouldn’t forget them. Hold onto that memory and never let it fade from your soul. My grandpa told me that the last time I saw him in person. He constantly traveled from Iran to America to see me. He lived with us for a few years and no matter how bad things got, I had my grandpa by my side. He taught me so many important things and even though I lost him when I was 12, I like to think he would have liked the woman I’ve grown into. My grandpa was buried under a pomegranate tree back in Tehran, the home he wanted me to so desperately go to is being destroyed. It’s not just Tehran, it’s all of West Asia and Africa. We are also seeing a targeted genocide campaign towards trans people, all over the world but especially within the United States. I urge you to donate if you can. Linked will be a post I made that shares resources on how to help. I know times are tough for everyone, but I truly believe change can come from speaking up and holding true to your morals. Just like my grandpa said, all good things must come to an end. And that means this post as well. I used to hate being different and weird, I still think I hate that side of me sometimes. But the more I grow and the more that I find joy in my life, the less I seem to care about being strange and unusual. I love that I know so much about Victorian history and I love making Armenian ocs and making horror novels. I love listening to weird music and I love my girlfriend. I love West Asia and I hope it can be free one day. And I hope that you, yes, you, the person who took the time out of their day to read this long long post, has a wonderful day and stays weird. Honestly this is a hard one since Pokémon exists but I’ll pretend it doesn’t for a moment to talk about my beloved Truffle Heartless. I think they’re just so damn cute, it was always so incredible to stumble across one. While there are guides that locate all of them I played Kingdom hearts when I was really little, so it always felt like such a big surprise whenever I encountered one. They’re still so cute to me. Look at them!!!
