In who is the monster both Roctis and Ignes brutally die at the hands of Franken and not only does Rai never bat an eye at them, he doesn’t mention them in passing once. Not even Roctis. Does he even know he’s dead? This is probably an example of bad writing but it’s kinda maybe also hilarious, Roctis traitor died and Rai didn’t care alldkfhskaldkfjskL
I really do believe that everything is Roctis's fault. This is just my little theory that we either already put together or haven't done so yet. I just felt like writing a mini rant about it since I was going crazy about it at like 4am in the morning. This is a bit text heavy.
Like the wonderfully bored person I can be, I decided to read Noblesse all over again. Guess my memory is just that horrible or I wasn’t paying much attention to a few parts. I found out new things each time I re-read the series.
Now, the fact that we know a bit more about the series, a few things are making a lot more sense now. Also, things that have been dismissed as we didn’t know anything at the time is slowly starting to clear itself up. So, after re-reading Noblesse, I have a small theory hatching, which pretty much blew my mind once I thought about it.
If you are up to date with the series, we know about Roctis right? He formed a contract with the Union leader #12. Yes, that guy. I have a theory that pretty much revolves around him.
As we know, the whole series started with how Rai has been sleeping for a very long time and has been missing for well over 800 years, right? We also know that M-21 and M-24 were told to retrieve something that was stolen from them, a coffin where Rai was sleeping in. They know that the people [whose which origins or employers are not known] stole the coffin from the UNION itself. Why did the union have his coffin in the first place? Why was Rai sleeping for so long?
I will be assuming we know that Rai uses up his life energy every time he uses his power. His immense power is technically his ‘soul weapon.’ So every once in a while he ‘hibernates’ to pretty much recover his energy, and recover physically. So he slept for around 800+ years. Chapter 220 reveals the reason why Rai suddenly went into hibernation. He had his life threatened by those who betrayed the Lord. The two most powerful beings known to Nobles were both betrayed. Upon knowing this, and knowing which clan leaders are traitors makes it easier for Franky to know who dared to threaten his master and to him this is obviously punishable by painful death. Roctis being a traitor will surely be one of them that he will want to kill.
Not just trying to kill him but using him was the goal of the traitors. Roctis is also included in this obviously. For this reason, Rai was considered a traitor when he revealed himself to the Lord, but we all know that Rai is not a traitor by any means. Once this piece of information was revealed, Frankenstein was livid! How dare they harm his master! Anyone who is considered a ‘traitor’ then must be someone who was after Rai’s life at one point. My guess is that the more power he uses the more longer he must sleep. So if all those Nobles attacked him, of course he used a lot of powers. Franky said himself in ch. 220 that the aftereffects have never been this bad before. Ch. 236 shows that 820 years were not enough for him to recover- rather, he is beyond recovery.
This will bring me to the point in which Cerberus comes onto the scene. We find out that the Union leader had made a contract with Roctis, a ‘traitor.’ The fact he made a contract with a Union leader means that he himself is in the Union which is later found to be true. He is the Union leader #4. He betrayed the Lord, threatened Rai, used him, and also contracted a modified human. Just how much can he divulge from the tracks of the Noble code?
See, the fact that he’s part of the UNION means something. The Union was the one who was in possession of Rai’s coffin. It was noted that they were in possession of it for a very long time. They sent M-21 and M-24 to retrieve it, meaning the Union themselves probably do not know/remember what is inside of the coffin. Then again after centuries of having the coffin in your possession would cause you to forget what was so important about it.
Rai had a sudden disappearance, and the fact that Rai was attacked was not known by anyone (especially Franky, his loyal ‘pet peacock’) seems too fishy to not be related to one another. Rai was attacked by many Nobles, and he disappeared. He probably went into hibernation, and once he was sleeping, someone must’ve stolen him and took him away. By keeping him hidden away, no one could find him. Maybe he was stolen as to perhaps make use of him when he wakes up. The traitors were making use of Rai anyways, and when he woke up, he’d be with the traitors, making it seem undeniable that he had a relation to the traitorous nobles. Sure, it could’ve been a coincidence that Rai just randomly disappeared and was possessed by the Union which so happens to house a traitorous Noble as a Union leader. I am willing to bet that he is behind it all.
Franky already had the right idea. He didn’t really trust anyone. EVERYONE was looking for Rai, but they couldn’t find anything? That doesn’t make sense now does it? They are all Nobles. They all have special powers. They are all resourceful and smart. There is no way that no one would’ve been able to find Rai. Someone must’ve been lying, or something really crazy was going on that no one knew about. Look back to the page, “EVERYONE” looked for Rai, and apparently no one was able to find any clues after YEARS. The Nobles may not be very big in population but they have enough people to help them search. They have stamina, speed, etc. To me, it’s impossible for them to not find Rai unless there was a really clever ruse to hide him from them. It basically doesn’t make much sense does it?
My bet is that Roctis is the reason why Rai disappeared and kept him hidden away really well so no one could find any hints of him, and he feigned innocence as to where Rai was hidden. He probably hid Rai with some humans. Like who would think to look for Rai with a bunch of humans, right? Roctis tried to kill him and tried to use him. It’s not weird that if his plans were foiled he would try again and having Rai in his possession, he could probably make use of him again. Roctis probably staged the fight between Rai and the other traitors, he kept Rai away from everyone for centuries, and just BAAAHHHH. I just thought about all of this and my mind was just blown away. Yeah, my mind gets blown away too easily as you can see. Though the fact that Rai slept for 800+ years bothers me.
Well I’ve ranted for long enough. That’s my theory. Hopefully I didn’t bore you. If you read this in it’s entirety, I salute you. You read a lot. Does my theory make sense to you? Feel free to talk to me. I love talking to people. 8) I probably have a lot of loopholes in my theory or it’s just something that everyone knew by now. LOL I don’t know. I tend to think really slowly. =w=
