MOVIE REVIEW: We Are Freestyle Love Supreme
WE ARE FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME
is a movie for people who love
FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME
the improvisational hip-hop comedy musical group
formed by
Lin-Manuel Miranda
and
Anthony Veneziale
in 2004
but if you don’t love
FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME
or have never heard of
FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME
or know what they are responsible for...
then you will feel
AWKWARD
like me
and feel
not so different than being at a party with
A GROUP OF STRANGERS
who are best friends that have known each other since childhood
and get along so well its
CREEPY
and praise each other so much
its
CREEPY
until finally
after you fall asleep in a lawn chair by the pool
you go
“OH WAIT YOUR THAT GUY...YOU CREATED HAMILTON!”
but by that time the party is almost over and
you’ve felt excluded for more than an hour
you realize that it’s too late to care
and would rather go back to sleep in that lawn chair!
WE ARE FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME
is a positive movie about positive people
who rarely fight or disagree
which makes me feel even more guilty
for not liking this documentary.
I recognize that the group is talented but if you are not
familiar with this act or care for the act
or have yet to see Hamilton
like me
I can’t recommend this film!
