Great news for all the RØDE microphone fans, or really film audio fans/professionals in general – RØDE has announced their new complete wireless audio kit, RødeLink.
Australian owned and operated electronics company, RØDE, has been a player in the audio industry for nearly 50 years. With an audio product line complete with mics for studio, live or mobile environments, and practically any ancillary equipment you could desire, RØDE has become one of the more well known manufactures in the industry. Now, the need for a wireless film audio solution has been met with the RødeLink Filmmaker Kit.
Available for pre-order now, the RødeLink Filmmaker Kit comes out of the box with a transmitter, receiver and lavalier mic. With a 2.4 GHZ, 128-bit digital transmission, the system provides a 24-bit 44.1 kHz transmission at up 100m. In layman’s terms, RødeLink jumps between frequencies to ensure the best signal is being delivered to provide great quality audio at long range.
The internals and technology of the kit aren’t the only thing that will catch the eye of film makers. Features such as one-touch pairing, and 3-level gain control make this equipment very easy to use, and the built-in OLED display and mute override button in the kit’s receiver give the user more info and control over the system. Other noteworthy features include:
3.5 mm locking audio jacks on transmitter and receiver
Built-in micro USB charging ports on transmitter and receiver
Option for belt clip or hot shoe mount for receiver
Omnidirectional audio detection with included lav mic

If you’re interested in getting your hands on this shiny new filmmaker kit, it is available for pre-order now, and should be released some time in March of this year.
