Rogue Light
"The light used to give me warmth. It used to fill me with boundless energy. Now... it sickens me to the core."
The Hunter brought her cloak in close, lithe fingers moving across strange fabric that seemed to ripple and respond to her questing fingers. Lambent energy shivered through the fabric and impossible patterns illuminated in every weaving patterns of unlight. It was tattered, frayed at the edges with many burns eating at the trim. Once it had been beautiful. A vibrant crimson that mirrored one of the Fallen houses but had since began to take on a coloration of it's own.
She liked watching it change, the gradual murmur of the hues it took on when it adapted itself to the environment. There was a symbiosis that they shared and she could never truly tell why the cloak had chosen her. How she even found it was a matter of luck and no small act of fate.
She released the cloak and looked out at the ruins of the Cosmodrome walls. They towered on from one horizon to the next, a rustic monument to mankind's past and a reminder of sacrifices made to ensure its future. Endless highways of decrepit cars clung to the wall showing man's attempt to escape the inevitable. Snow and time were slowly beginning to break down all these reminders. These memories. She theorized that in a few dozen years all would be covered over to make way for nature once more. Life moved on and always persevered against man's control.
Even these walls would fall. That was their only purpose now.
"Aspasia." Came a voice, regal and inflected with a warmth that always made a shiver rise up the Hunters spine. It was proud and powerful, a voice used to long sermons and educated in various arts both lawed and unlawful.
"Yes, my love?" Aspasia replied, her own voice weathered and tired.
Samael moved effortlessly through the tangle of rusted cars her robes fluttering in the wind. She looked ethereal. Even more so than Aspasia with her awoken origins. Samael was human but that never seemed to be the air that carried around her.
"We must keep going. The Ardent have our scent and it will not be long before they follow the trail."
Aspasia nodded and stood from her crouch letting her cloak billow back behind her. She stared at the Cosmodrome wall and then back toward Samael. "Gaius?" She questioned.
"He keeps his distance. But he will meet us within at the agreed checkpoint."
Aspasia nodded again and sighed with a smile, "Well then, best not keep him waiting. Let's go."
Aspasia and Samael moved with haste, approaching the tremendous wall and with a little maneuvering they were within disappearing in the maze of metal. The Ardent were on the hunt and it'd take a small miracle for the Rogue Lights to avoid capture. A miracle and a little bit of luck.
A mini Boss Enemy that was ultimately cut from the LUMEN game due to time. It was neat to explore the designs though! You can download the game for FREE with the second link below!

Over the Summer I worked on a Videogame as a Co-Op with Sheridan College’s Post-Grad Game Design program. It was super fun and I learned a lot during the 4 months I was the Artist/Modeler/Animator on this game. Here are some of my Models and behind the scenes sketches of our game LUMEN!
