RANTING TIME!

So the Ultimates comic released in march “reimagined” John Walker as a neo-Nazi whose face was then aggressively burned so they can eventually make him the next Red Skull, huh? 🙄 I guess this is Earth-6160.

He’s done awful sh*t in the comics over the years but he’s still largely an anti-hero. If the comics keep doing this, I’m worried the MCU creators who “hate John and don’t respect him at all” will take the darkest storylines they can find to turn him into to ‘justify’ their hatred without caring about how the fans will feel.

I mean….

The MCU tried to make him the villain in TFATWS but instead ended up making him the best written character in that show while making Bucky and, to a sliiiiiiiightly lesser extent, Sam look like assholes. And no, you will not change my mind. Then John is done dirty in Thunderbolts* by being made to take the brunt of everyone else’s baggage, including Bucky airing out his personal business in front of everyone because apparently he’s still being a petty bitch even four years later. And I love Bucky but really. However, I did read that Seb was not too happy abut how much the creators were warping Bucky like this at least.

Then the Russos come along, pen a stupid scene that’s set just over a year after the end of the film where they make John look like an idiot which I guess kinda matches the film since almost all of John’s established competency from the show was largely erased. Or it was barely mentioned and quickly ignored after.

Don’t get me started about how the Russos apparently think they’re being funny by having John fight with Bucky over that ridiculous taco shield. I mean, WHY does John want to keep it!? He can’t throw it anymore and using it to deflect bullets puts his teammates in danger of being hit. Oh, but Marvel gleefully announced that John will still be using it in Doomsday which also worries me because that would be a very easy way for them to just get rid of him.

Disney is rife with extremely poor writing these days.

I’ll say this only once… Disney, if you kill John in Doomsday, I will hunt down the idiot who thought that was a good idea.

Okay I'm gonna have to say something because sorry to say, Saw's still gonna be here a while.

But the thing is: This is Star Wars, this is getting into the Nitty and Gritty of the series. People are going to die for their causes and people are going to perish for methods used. Saw is one of those characters who doesn't have a good light, but it's how his team progress towards their end goal just like the Rebellion did in the OT series... How Hera's squad dealt with things.

I mean Cassian killed people in Andor who didn't follow his goals and thoughts, Luke killed multiple people! Yet why is it Saw that gets the attention?

The Rebellion barely exists at the moment, and no one is taking action against the Empire apart from Rex and his gang.

I'm sorry your Blorbo is dead, but he doesn't have Plot Armour. Not like certain other folks we know (Rex, Gregor etc)... he may be dead or he may come back. (I just don't have much faith)

Not everyone gets to live to see the end. And considering how the writing's been? I'm not surprised. There's gonna be a reason why we don't see these guys in Rebels, OT or anything.

Popping in on my break at work to ask, and I cannot stress this enough, why do people INSIST on not wearing masks in public indoor places that require them??

Because like. I work at Target, and earlier today I was cleaning carts at the front of the store where people come in (note that we have multiple signs around the store and at the entrances saying hey you need a mask to enter and even an audio recording that we play like every 20 minutes over the music we have to remind people that masks are necessary). This gentleman was coming in with what I assuming was his daughter (both maskless) and like, y'know, my job is to keep everyone safe, right? So I mention to him that we have extras for people who forget to bring theirs, showing him where they are.

His response? Without even looking at me, he said (and I quote):

"That's great! I don't care."

And then he just. Walked away.

I've been thinking about this almost all day because like. How low does your base respect for your fellow human beings have to be to genuinely not care about the consequences of your actions in a time like this?

Obviously I couldn't say anything back to that, so I was just left to think about it. All. Day.

Just like… damn, man. Today's been wild.

Love for small wild cats?

okay so WAY before this whole pandemic thing I was at the zoo sitting with my favorite creature, the sand cat. A little boy came in and he was absolutely furious. He turned to his mom and said, “mama why are there cats in the zoo”.

I tried to explain to him that these cats might be tiny and cute, but they’re wild casts just like leopards and tigers. They live in Africa, like lions, and in the middle east, and they eat venomous snakes.

The little boy seemed uninterested. He peered in on the black-footed cats (an even smaller cat), became even more enraged, and ran ahead to go look at the small primates.

And I was as devastated as he was angry

So can I ask a small favor of you internet? Can I make a plea for you to help me bring attention to small wild cats?

I had so many ideas for how I wanted to change my blog and now I remember none of them lol. Anyway, I should have an updated about page pretty soon here. From there I’m going to see about making pages specifically for mobile. I don’t actually know if I can do that practically but I’ll still try.
